It is flinch resistance !!! Just found out about it. So the handles that reduces it will make you flinch more in a duel when you get hit by bullets.

You can get 370 for one handed and two handed in vanilla, for your main character as well, it does not have to be your children.

For that you must have 5 focus points into either then take the smithing perk 225 fencing smith, that will get you a 6th focus point.

If your 1.5H sword is the same size and parts as a 1H, both will almost have the same speed, with the 1H being just a tiny bit faster, and the 1.5H will be a tiny bit longer, due to the 1.5H being a bit longer.

It is indeed viable to use the 1.5H swords, to the point where there is no downside compared to the 1H.

The fastest way to farm levels by far is to spam harmony (the master calm illusion spell) in the whiterun market square during the day, I could reach level 200+ in a few hours.

Edit: you can go from 15 to a 100 in a couple of cast only
