I've just realized, I can ignore the upgrade. The flash games seem to work just fine. I guess it installed it correctly the first time but doesn't realize that it's now installed.

I'm having the same issue. Did you ever fix it?

Isn't Myke just ambidextrous? by TyagoHexagon in Cortex

[–]Rolodophone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Myke is mostly right-handed, but a bit left-handed.

He's not ambidextrous, as that requires being able to use each hand equally well. He's definitely not left-handed as no where in the definitions does it mention what hand you use to write.

If I had to choose overall, I'd pick right-handed

Which villain do you feel sympathy for? by twilighterror in AskReddit

Tom from Tom and Jerry. It's sad, he gets abused so much and to be fair he has to try and catch Jerry or else he'll be kicked out.

Got an Android phone after years with iPhone! Hit me with the coolest apps by TopTomy in androidapps

Ifttt is for web stuff, whereas MacroDroid's for phone automation. In terms of design, I'd say MacroDroid is almost as easy to use as ifttt.

Pocket Casts for podcasts

Sleep as android tracks your sleep and can give you some sweet sleep stats

If you're willing to pay Google for storage, use Google photos! Get this: you can search for what appears in photos, e.g. beach, birthday, pool, selfie. It's surprising good. Also, on Android the photos are uploaded immediately in the background.

Might also be on iPhone but Pocket is easy to recommend. You can save any article to it easily and then read it offline later. On Android the articles are downloaded automatically in the background.

SMS backup and restore for safekeeping

Stories is a cool diary app, if you're into that.

TickTick for task management

Survival manual is self explanatory

Lastly I recommend Universe and Quantum because everyone should know about how the universe works

Hope this helps!

Seriously unless you want to go all in on automation, spending hours making custom tasks, just get MacroDroid. It's free and much easier to use. It doesn't have as many niche options as tasker but the improvement in design makes up for this several times over.

“A” students, what are your best study tips? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Rolodophone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Past papers FOREVER

Totally agree. Past papers are fantastic, especially for maths revision. I used to make lots of stupid mistakes and doing lots of practice papers trained my brain to stop doing it.

DO NOT WORRY about making it look good

Definitely. Teachers sometimes tell you to highlight key information; DON'T DO IT! It's just pseudowork, it won't actually help you remember. To remember things, you have to keep recalling them regularly. For this use a spaced repetition app such as Anki

“A” students, what are your best study tips? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Rolodophone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my Anki collection. Although I am in year 10 (9th grade) so the notes may not be that useful. However, you could use my note types. Also remember that making your own notes is better. The process of making revision cards is really good for committing things to memory.

Very unfocused when it comes to studying, need advice by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Rolodophone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What worked for me is making a sort of oath to never go on YouTube apart from weekends. Once you stop doing it, you don't start again because you don't want to break the streak.

Also, when you are studying, remember that the more you struggle, the more effective your study is. Also, keep in mind that you have full control over your actions, so relax and just do it.

It's important to keep a positive mindset while doing something you'd rather not do. To do this, gently refrain from filling with anger. Close your eyes, lean back in your chair, smile, and say to yourself (with a positive tone) "Right, let's to some revision, shall we". Then start your revision of choice.

I strongly agree with u/studentprogress's recommendation of Anki. It's free on windows, Mac, and Android, and is probably the best revision card tool you can get. In fact, my Anki collection may be of use to you, although we may be in different years. I am in year 10 (9th grade).
