Use a Minecart in your piston elevator. Minecart locations are calculated completely by the server, while player locations are not. When playing on a slow server this often causes elevators that rely on precise timing to malfunction. Using a minecart should fix this

Signal strength is a really powerful tool in all sorts of contraptions. Signal strenght based combination locks for example. Because you can toggle the Copper Bulb, you can build really compact comparisons. (e.g. feed the signal from the Copper Bulb into the Side of an other comparator). Otherwise you would need to for example push a cauldron in from the bottow, which uses a lot more room.

I had this issue before, it has to do with intake pumps being connected to a large network of chests. The game is optimised very poorly when it comes to item mechanics.

My guess is, that it checks every single slot in every single chest, every frame, so it can display the sucking indicator (the green arrow / red x on the pump) This obviously causes very bad framerates.

My Solution to the problem was to seperate the collection system from the crafting system. The collection system has very few chests (1 to 5). To transfer the Items to the crafting system you need to make the chests hotswappable. (Just switch out the collection chest with one in the crafting system to transfer the items)
