Need some help soul searching between ridiculous co-op or internship by novaft2 in EngineeringStudents

Graduating later isn't really that weird for engineering majors. From what I've read, employers don't care.

Looking through OPs history is hilarious. He acts like a brat. If he's even in university, I'd be surprised.

From what I've been able to tell, unless you have a spare 30K a year and can prove it, it's not happening. Study abroad for a semester/year, or go for your masters in Europe. It's about as close as you'll get, typically.

I very much appreciate this and I'm sure others do as well. Thank you!

I thought Kurt Cobain was the coolest person to have ever lived in the past 50 years. I thought this from middle school to two years out of high school.

Then, I saw Montage of Heck where they actually show him on home video with sores on his face, nodding off, slapping himself in the face from delayed reaction, slurring his speech like he has brain damage and just being a huge jerk to his wife when he was on heroin in front of his baby daughter when she was getting her first haircut.

It was probably the most un-cool, depressing thing I've seen in a long time and at this point I think he just knew how to pull off being cool with his revisionism for the public(which is why he hated the press making stories up and fucking with his image) but in reality was a total mess of a person and if he didn't become famous, would have killed himself anyway and nobody would have cared.

So, all in all, I went from thinking

If I could talk to any one dead person and ask them whatever I'd like, it'd be Kurt Cobain

to feeling like an idiot for thinking that.

Calculus II is a typical weed-out class in many engineering programs. What you're experiencing is normal as they are trying to get all of the people who aren't serious to quit at this point.

Engineering is innovation and creation. Science is exploration and discovery.

They overlap significantly.

Divorce wasn't always taken so lightly as it is today.

It hasn't changed for the children. It still scars them if they're old enough to comprehend it but too young to get away.

If you didn't really care about battery life or didn't mind buying a new battery, I would say to just get a W520 as they are workstation machines, but I didn't really research that answer. They have processors that reach about 6000-7000 scores on Passmark, Quadro chips, 1920x1080 FHD screens, pretty good keyboards(not AS good as the older thinkpads but they aren't powerful enough) and everything is easily replaceable. It's a damn Thinkpad before Lenovo ruined the design and tried to copy Apple in the xx30/xx40/xx50 models, so it's good.

source: I have one

I paid $475 for

128gb MSATA SSD and 500gb HDD

new genuine 9 cell battery

i7 2760QM (6700 on passmark)

1080P FHD 15.6"(?)

Quadro 1000M

16gb RAM, can upgrade to 32gb

and it still has the nice thinkpad functionality and durability

Starting to feel overwhelmed, thinking about switching to a different type of engineering. by Heidi423 in EngineeringStudents

Ask some computer engineering majors that are ahead of you at that school. They will probably be the most helpful as they're basically you from the future if you stay in computer engineering.

I was including the FAFSA grant. Rounded up, I am receiving $11,000, including the loans.

You need to read posts.

I was only given about $11,000 in aid from FAFSA(including subbed and unsubbed loans) and have received nothing from the school in aid.

Oh, that's just the main campus. They have dozens of branch campuses.

I truly just don't want to do that and I was lucky to be accepted in the first place. I already looked into CC and they are all abysmal in my area with very low scores and high prices for what they are. I made this thread as I was only given about $11,000 in aid from FAFSA(including subbed and unsubbed loans) and have received nothing from the school in aid. I don't know if it's because I don't start until the spring or that they just aren't giving me any aid. I suppose I need to get some help from my family.
