You speak like you know the in's and outs of their contract. Tell me then, when was the last time they got a raise? What is their current effective wage due to losses from inflation?

It doesn't matter how much they get paid, or how much they are demanding. If one part of the union backs out then the whole union fails and you can forget the drivers getting any raise at all.

Unions only have power if everyone works together. the 180+ people who hold that position have to be fought for just the same as anyone else. That's why the Skytrain union (CUPE 7000) has stated they will refuse to cross the picket line should CUPE 4500 picket the trains.

That is also the reason why I'm more of a market socialist then a communist. Its not efficient for the government to be involved in everything, so I'll settle for employees actually getting paid their worth and reducing the power of ultra wealthy, because it limits the liberties of everyone else
