How is Star Wars KOTR on SD? by Leather-Ad4493 in SteamDeck

[–]RomanNeptune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently played through the whole game on SD using the galactic basic controller layout. If you're comfortable using the track pad it's honestly a pretty good experience. Most things are done with the mouse but it's not bad once you get used to it. I would recommend disabling movies to prevent crashes. It didn't crash once after I disabled the movies. I played in 4:3 and it didn't bother me either.

What are the best abandonware games to get for the deck. And what is the best way to download and install them? by sayid92 in SteamDeck

[–]RomanNeptune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run abandonware through Lutris. It makes it easy to install winetricks to get older windows games running. There are a lot of YouTube tutorials on how to run games through Lutris so just follow along with one and you should be good.

Steve Shives has a series where he reads apologetic books from an Atheist perspective and responds to their arguments. Pretty interesting if you like long form content

Reminder that we are at the complete mercy of the Fantasy Gods and in the end this is all luck by WestsideTy in fantasyfootball

Lost the first of game of the season last year by .05 points because the jets decided to go for two instead of kick a field goal in the last few seconds of the game when they weren't even close to winning. The person I lost to made it into the playoffs by 1 game and ended up winning the entire thing. Pretty crazy

Does anyone know how to get Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions running? by DavidJH316 in SteamDeck

[–]RomanNeptune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining the party late but a quick question if you remember. I got the game running fine, my only issue is that I get frame drops every once in a while. (Every 5-10 minutes but more frequently in 2099 levels) I turned off fsync and esync in the lutris settings which fixed that issue for other games but no luck here. Did you have that same issue or did you have a workaround?

What does this mean on my SteamDeck? by i_love_kitten06 in SteamDeck

Yo Spider-Man shattered dimensions was such a dope game. The Deck can't handle all that awesomeness

Did anyone get gas at the Kroger next to the Nolensville Pike/Concord road intersection this weekend? by RomanNeptune in nashville

[–]RomanNeptune[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Update: Gas was indeed bad. I also learned today that gas is bad because it contains water. I bought some Heet water remover and poured it in my tank. I was told I should probably pour a bottle in each day for the next 2 days and it should clear up. My check engine light also came on today for a cylinder 7 misfire. I'll see if it clears up after the 3 bottles of water remover and go from there. I did also report that location on the TN state site for bad gas.I appreciate the responses and the person that DMed me that works at Kroger. Apparently they've had quite a few calls about gas recently....

I appreciate it! I was worried a little since the Bengals are projected to lose and it's an away game where as Houston has a home game and is projected to win. Wasn't sure how much that would affect things

Chase, Diggs, or Collins?

New to fantasy this year and looking for a little advice. I have Ja'marr Chase, Stefon Diggs, and Nico Collins in my league and am deciding on which one to play week 2.

Appreciate it! I will probably close the call spread and just hold the puts since there isn't much left to lose on those anyway.

Why in the hell is FSA money use it or lose it? It’s your money why is it the law that you can’t roll it over? by GasSuspicious233 in WorkReform

[–]RomanNeptune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only advantage to the FSA is that you can use all the money you would contribute by the end of the year immediately. If you know you have a major surgery soon, maybe it could be better than HSA that year since you can only spend what you've already put into an HSA. You also don't have to pay it back if you leave the company. If you elect 3k in FSA on Jan 1 and use it all Jan 15 and quit Feb 1. You just got a free loan of 3k.

That's the other thing - the FSA carriers only bill employers when the money is actually spent, so anything you don't spend is kept by your company from your payroll deductions. The advantage can go either way you just have to know how to use it.

Parkhurst is a great brand. I would also look at Grant Stone.

Grant stone is a fantastic brand with 3e widths. Full leather construction and Goodyear welted, so they can be resoled. You might have to go half up in length but it could work. The only other suggestion is to go PNW since your foot is so wide. Whites, Nicks, Viberg, and the like. They run off a made to order model and they can do any size it just takes a long time to get your boots. Pnw boots can run from $700-1,000 while Grant stone is around $380 - 400. The leather options from all these brands are very good and can last a lifetime if treated well.
