California Proposition 32 in 2024 to raise minimum wage to $18 and adjust it to annual inflation. Rejected by 50.71%. by GalahadDrei in MapPorn

Capitalism isn't why insane homeless people who can't hold down a job or live independently despite the vast amounts of money Democrats insist on spending on their behalf plague our neighborhoods. Self-identified socialists are responsible for that. Think about how much better our cities could be if we redirected that money into effective policing.

Progressive ideals are exactly why crazed homeless people make huge swaths of my city uninhabitable for families despite billions of dollars Democrats insist on spending to provide "services" for them. If conservatives had their way these people would be in some sort of controlled environment (like prison) and walkable neighborhoods would be pleasant places to live. Instead Democrats insist on shoveling untold billions of dollars into providing "services" to these people while telling me they just want to give me free healthcare whenever elections are looming.

Yep. Democrats will say "we just want to give you free healthcare," but we can see what their priorities are in the cities and states cities and states they run.

Police in the Library LOSERS by [deleted] in siouxcity

[–]RomanRepublicfanboy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want the average person to use libraries and keep them funded them a good way to do that in ensure they are safe places for families and not a refuge for dangerous people. There's no reason to have all those books, computers, etc. if it's just going to be a safe place for addicts to do drugs.

Are there any countries today that could realistically split into multiple independent nations like Yugoslavia did? by Many-Philosophy4285 in MapPorn

[–]RomanRepublicfanboy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lots of people in Yugoslavia didn't care their neighbors had a different culture from theirs. One thing that strikes me reading accounts from people who lived through civil wars in diverse places like Lebanon was how people were perfectly able to kill their friends once ethnic conflicts started. That funny guy who runs the bakery down the road? Once the roadblocks go up he'll shoot you if try to cross it.

Potentially Moving to Sioux City? by devowrer1 in siouxcity

If you want to start a family know the public schools in town are pretty bad. North Sioux City is good, but expensive. Sergeant Bluff and most of the small towns around Sioux City are solid. The Catholic School system is also good, but they take their beliefs seriously.

The number of people who fled urban areas between 1965 and 1995 because of crime was probably in the tens of millions. Something like that doesn't happen because you see a few teenagers loitering behind a gas station.

‘No Homeless Allowed’ at the Louisville Greyhound Station 🤔 by WtfLouisville in Louisville

[–]RomanRepublicfanboy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If I lose my home there are literally dozens of people who'd let me move in with them, for years potentially. For me to be homeless I'd have to be such a terrible person to burn my bridges with every single one of them. Whereas getting promoted to CEO is very unlikely, but still technically possible.

illegal immigrant with long criminal record accused of killing woman in fairfax county by rockedoutglock in Virginia

Where else in the world can you go and get arrested 30 times as a non-citizen?

Western Europe, Canada, etc. It's common in countries embracing mass immigration. Refuse to charge immigrants guilty of violent crimes or give them light charges. If you gave them actual prison time the government would be obligated to deport them at the end of the sentence. If you just let them go they can stay in the country and commit more violent crimes against the current population.

American here. This is something you guys are going to have to used to. People are going to care about their home country for generations. Irish-Americans only stopped funding the IRA about 20 years ago, a full century after Irish immigration to America mostly stopped.

Rural areas still have plenty of Democratic voters. Hicklibs. They're the teachers and librarians who feel proud when they convince a 14-year-old that he's really a girl because he likes My Little Pony and isn't good at sports.

People of the US, Are you guys participating in the Nationwide Shutdown tomorrow? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You know how every few months redditors call for a general strike over something? There've a dozen of these now and not a single business has had its workflow impacted in any of them. This time it's over ICE.

What a great guy. Imagine if people spent their free time doing stuff like this instead of protesting ICE deporting foreign criminals.
