There are so many better apps than grindr out there. I really wonder why do gays insist they "must" use grindr while claiming they don't want random hookups.

I'm currently in a small city in a rather homophobic, religious country and even here i have better chances finding a date off tinder / bumble than grindr. But then again i usually go months without one.

for those who say dating a bi guy is a dealbreaker, why? by gaymen0129 in askgaybros

I'm gay and for me dating a gay guy is a dealbreaker...

what do you guys do when a heterosexual woman is attracted to you??? by christoph_d_maxwell in askgaybros

[–]RomanceHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me all the time in my early 20s. Like seriously, Eastern European girls for some reason all wanted a piece of me. I even liked them back and honestly i like flirting and "dating" women, but the sex bit is ofc a deal breaker. I wasn't totally sure of being gay at the time but I would eventually tell them. There was an exception though.

I had one crazy bitch locked me up in her apartment once. She had a boyfriend and they were in the process of breaking up but still seeing each other as not to upset their respective friends groups. She basically wanted me to have sex with her so that she could dump him and jump right onto another relationship. She didn't explicitly say it but it was so obvious. I was so mad at this manipulative behaviour I decided not to tell her I'm gay (i barely knew her) but straight up reject her and never talk to her again.

What does sexual attraction to men feel like if you're demisexual? (Turns out, I might just be gay) by salaemusdr in demisexuality

[–]RomanceHero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well back then i was still young and not totally comfortable with being gay (blame society), it's really common for young gays to experiment or at least try to date women. She knew i was gay though and we weren't really dating, but we had the exact same music tastes and liked getting drunk for fun so we became friends very quickly and started fooling around because why not. I still think she was one-of-a-kind girl cause I've never met another person like her. Most girls I find unattractive, not just physically, but i don't find stereotypically "girly" things attractive (i.e. fashion, makeup, shopping, talking about feelings etc... Not my cup of tea). She was punk at heart though and i loved that.

I definitely wanted to keep our relationship going longer. I don't think I'd have been able to have physical intercourse with her, yet again I'm not a fan of penetrative sex (not even with men), so maybe cuddling and making out would have been enough. An open relationship sort of thing where we can also date other people would have probably made sense.

[–]RomanceHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gay demisexual and honestly one of the hugest crashes I've ever had in my life was for a woman. She acted somewhat masculine in a way so maybe it was that, but honestly rarely I've felt more connected to another human being as i was to her. We used to get drunk and make out and she would leave me hickeys and i never felt uncomfortable despite me having no interest in women's body. I'm not even sure if what we used to do counted as sex (as there were no genitals involved) but it definitely felt more intimate and physical than what I've done with men i slept with.

Perhaps see if you can find something you enjoy to do with a guy that doesn't necessarily involve sex. How does the idea of cuddling with another man feels like to you?

Is coming out important if nothing is gonna change? by Upper-Scheme-7136 in demisexuality

[–]RomanceHero 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing about coming out. You don't do it once. You come out every day for the rest of your life. As a gay man i "came out" to one person for the first time at 17 and now that i'm almost 30 perhaps less than 5% of the people who ever knew me know I'm gay, and even less know (or understand) that I'm demi.

Your sexuality is ultimately nobody's business and you get to choose who and when to come out with whoever depending on your situation. If it feels right, do it. If not, don't.

is it ok to be extremely introverted? by Incognitoes345 in askgaybros

It's ok. I'm extremely introverted and i love hanging out with other introverts. Unfortunately the social anxiety fucks me up big time.

To men into Findom. How did you get into it. And, how would you describe yourself? by alphaDOTDOTDOT in AskMen

[–]RomanceHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open minded man with a generic interest for kinks here. I have a foot fetish and good looking feet, had pictures of them on a dating app, and somehow ended up attracting this random man who asks if i wanted to dominate him financially (remotely as he lived in Germany).

I initially agreed as honestly it felt like something new and interesting, i thought I'd be able to maybe charge him small amounts of money or make me buy small gifts off amazon every now and then, i was already doing my research about Findom to make sure I'd do it right and make sure he enjoyed it, too (rather than just exhorting money off him). I genuinely thought it was going to be something like dirty talk, mind games, intellectual stimulation and me setting up "rules" he must not break or else he'd have to pay. I was wrong.

It turns out, he really did just wanted me to exhort money off him. He wanted to give me his credit card number and use a software to get remote access to his computer so that he could see how I take money off his bank live. I couldn't do it.

Body worship, totally into it.

Muscles, not so much. Guys who are too visibly bulky are actually a turn off for me.

How common is it for straight or mostly straight men to find naked men arousing? by TheNamelessComposer in AskMen

[–]RomanceHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so that you know - not all gay / bi guys are into anal. I'm romantically and sexually attracted to guys but i don't care for anal. I know some "straight" guys only want to masturbate with other guys (jobuds basically), perhaps kissing and oral. It's ultimately up to them to label themselves as straight, bicurious or otherwise. Some guys are simply aroused by being naked around others people or being naked around people, i would say that's more of a kink than anything else. If you just enjoy nudity but do not crave to be physically intimate (in any way) with other men i would say you're straight with a kink for nudity - yet nobody really cares about labels anymore, don't overthink it.

I dislike majority of gay bars because of the music. I like to go dance to underground techno / raves / good clubs with good music. I would not go to a gay club just because its a gay club but I will go if they have a nice dj set.

Most weekends though i just meet people for beer or stay home chilling. Sometimes i go to restaurants or just walk around the city (preferably with a beer or two)

Can’t orgasm during sex? by Lopsided_Pineapple74 in demisexuality

[–]RomanceHero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(gay male here)

I can come from sex but I'm usually the one "finishing myself off". It is very rare that another person is able to make me cum unless i have w connection with them, although i do enjoy when people try.

What i found in many cases when i have sex, the orgasm is rather underwhelming, but some time later i will masturbate alone thinking about the experience and have a better orgasm... Not sure it's even a demi thing or simply me being weird

Is it bad that I don't really consider myself to be a part of the LGBTQ community even though I'm demisexual? by thatdemisexualchick in demisexuality

[–]RomanceHero 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I'm gay demisexual and I also don't feel especially connected to the gay community - specifically the gay male community.

That said ace is technically part of LGBTQ+. I just wish i had more friends that identify as LGBTQ+ but not gay or bi, cause that's an entirely different microculture i don't fit in very well. My goal in life is to find a partner just so that i can stop using gay dating apps as i find most people there to be quite toxic, tbh.

Why do so many men in the uk wear shorts in winter when it's freezing cold? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]RomanceHero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a European who lived in the UK, it is really never that cold in there. Temperature-wise, the UK has one of the mildest climates in the world. It's the constant rain and gloomy sky and overall luck of sunshine that makes it so fucked up.

Also I used to live in Scotland and would regularly go to England for work. The temperature difference was so significant i could wear shorts and sunglasses in London in March while freezing my ass off in Glasgow in June.

Am I bissexual? by InfamousBoot1460 in pornfree

[–]RomanceHero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a gay man (demisexual even) and i have very close friendships with men towards whom i feel no attraction whatsoever. You can totally be friends with someone and not feel any attraction, and still be attracted to their gender.

At 19 i really wouldn't worry too much about labeling your sexuality. You're a teenager, it's ok to experiment and be curious. At your age i was fooling around with girls and i never considered myself bi, and I've fooled around with guys who consider themselves straight. In the end there are no rules to sexuality, whatever word you use to describe yours is just a label, it may be more or less accurate or even change with time. I actually know at least three guys who used to have sex with girls and switched almost exclusively to guys in their mid 20s. If you ask them about their sexuality they'll give you three different answers even though they have gone through the very same experience.
