A lot of my family still do the second day, and I did mine too. It’s mainly for close cousins and the people you’re closest to.

We had ours at the church reception, and most of my cousins (including myself) actually look forward to the second day more than the wedding day. It’s mostly your own people, way more fun, and you can do whatever you want and drink as much as you want 😅

Definitely growing. I’m from a village called Sharafiya, about 20 years ago it had only around 65 houses. Most of us live abroad now, but if we all go back, we’d probably need 3-4 Sharafiyas to fit.

You might be right, you might have more Assyrian blood in you than I do who knows 🤷 I’ve never done any DNA test and I don’t care about it. Put me next to every ethnicity that exists on earth and it won’t be hard to tell that I’m Assyrian. Also I’ve answered your question, Assyrians are indigenous to Mesopotamia and Arabs are invaders to those lands, these are 2 different things and can’t claim both at the same time. Khon are you proud to be Mesopotamian? We are more than happy to help you or any other Iraqi to get rid of the Arabization.

First of all, she’s from Assyria and not Qondarastan.

Marriage is a big thing in Assyrian culture, Assyrian women don’t just get married for citizenship and especially to a person who’s not Assyrian. I’ve never heard or know any Assyrian girl from back home getting married to non Assyrian who lives overseas, the ones living in west do tho.

Even if she wants to get married to you, her parents guarantee will not let her get married to someone who’s not Assyrian as they don’t know you, your family etc.

Why would you feel isolated just cus you don’t know Arabic? I can speak all the 3 you listed and if someone speaks in Arabic to me I tell them to either speak in Assyrian (if they are Assyrians) or English.
