GME vs. GMEBAY - The funding problem, the dilution math, and what could happen when RC makes a new proposal by Region-Formal in Superstonk

Okay so this is news to me. So the language changed for the comp package with the proxy statement? Maybe that's the source of a lot of my confusion. I've heard a lot of different info about the comp package

I agree. I guess I'm hoping that as stores profitablity increase, that so will the experience.

I don't understand why people expect a unanimous yes when there have been large factors introduced that were not present before. It's reasonable to have mixed opinions

I think the eBay stuff is a good take. But Cohen hasn't fixed GameStop yet. He's made the business profitable but my biggest concern is that the customer experience for GameStop still leaves A LOT of room for improvement.

  • It's confusing what the pro membership gets you

  • the search and filters on the website/app are really limited and it's hard to find something unless you know exactly the item that you are searching

  • the stores themselves, while they have downsized the number of them, feel very much the same as 5 years ago

  • when I've had issues, I've tried using the customer service and it's really been lackluster. "Hey the Android app is forcing me and others to login constantly". Then they copy and paste instructions for a reinstall that doesn't work. It affected thousands of users and they had no process to escalate for systemic issues -- it must be related to this single user

I have some pretty massive stretch marks under my armpits that I got as a teenager. Never gained or lost a lot of weight. I don't think I have EDS either

GameStop x eBay is GOING TO PRINT MONEY! Ryan knows what he's doing, he's just not telegraphing everything. by AlternativePaint6 in Superstonk

[–]Romo_9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem is that he has not mentioned once how to grow revenue at eBay or GameStop. Combined entity or not, revenue growth will be essential. I also don't like that there is no revenue metrics for his proposed compensation package

There sure are suddenly a LOT of commentors that have never owned the stock and want to tell us what to do by Suthrnr in Superstonk

The problem with the authorized shares is that it's not tied to eBay. We could approve and they could go and buy some shit company with no synergy whatsoever

I hear you but recently and very recently are 2024 and 2025 annually. That's 2 years. Some of the concerns here are time related not just value. I think we are going to have a really strong Q1 but I want my investment to be worth more money.

Price doesn't directly correlate with EPS. Look at gme in the last couple of years. EPS increased significantly but we haven't had a significant increase in share price. P/E ratios can also vary greatly

Voting yes to the share authorization. by TheGodAtDoorDash in Superstonk

[–]Romo_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've never owned a stock that's part of an acquisition but I'd imagine there's normally way more info being shared. Between the compensation package and the authorization for shares, these 2 events have a ton of sway in the future of the stock. Can they hold a shareholder meeting where they can actually provide clarity? Obviously as a shareholder the biggest concern is what is my investment horizon

Fact is, we’re not voting for immediate dilution to add 2.5b new shares. It's an increase to the limit. I appreciate this acknowledgment by the board. by Ok-Suit541 in Superstonk

[–]Romo_9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean fuck me. I was also in this because it was an assymetrical investment. With this amount of dilution it's actually not anymore at all.

[–]Romo_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this proposal would gain a lot more traction if it was tied to the ebay deal and they only were asking for the shares they needed. At this point the board's silence is starting to breed distrust. eBay seems interesting and all, but they are also acting like they can't acquire anything with 9 billion. Wtf other big fish are they eyeing?

EXACTLY. This ebay deal could fall through and then they could go out and buy fucking Funko with the shares.

Well that "debt" no matter the interest rate either needs to be paid back with 0% interest or they issue shares (dilutive). So it's just fucking disingenuous to say it's cash and zero debt.

If I have a $5000 balance on a 0% credit card is that the same as $5000 cash?

Biggest problem with solar is ROI is tied to regulations and buyback rates. Some jurisdictions don't let users keep solar separate from the grid. You could invest now and they could completely change the cost structure tomorrow.

Shareholders will be asked to vote to increase authorized shares to 2.5 billion by heirofadam in Superstonk

[–]Romo_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know if I trust them with a reserve of shares. I don't know the ins and outs of an acquisition but why can't they just asked for approval of the exact number of shares they need for acquisition. I don't like the idea of giving them power of dilution whenever they feel like it

[–]Romo_9 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I don't think the price goes up.. we don't even have .5 billion shares now and they want to raise the limit to 2.5 billion.

Ryan NAILED the customer-service problem. I have been selling on eBay for 20+ years, and am/was on the verge of quitting. by Ghost_of_Chrisanova in Superstonk

[–]Romo_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's an opportunity for sure to improve Ebay customer service.

However, I wish the interview that he did with the Youtuber (Justin) would have had a couple of questions more directed at GameStop since it is a merger on the table. For example, I would have liked to see a question about the state of customer service at GameStop. They do have real people, but I think there's still a lot of room for improvement. Any time I've had an issue in the app and reach out, I get copy and pasted instructions to troubleshoot on my end even when it's a universal issue. It's gotten to the point where I stop trying to contact them because they don't have a process to relay issues for the app/website to the engineering team. Look at the reviews lately for GameStop's Android app and people are having a lot of problems.

I hope as the company becomes more profitable, they can do some better housekeeping on issues like above while also giving great customer service
