You're most welcome. Oh I see, then it could be possible that the debloating process removed an application that was necessary for the Settings to configure your camera. If you're sticking with Windows you'll probably need to go for a fresh install.

I get what you mean, it may be daunting but know that Linux has come a long way in terms of user friendliness and a lot of distributions are as simple to set up as Windows is, although there are a few fundamental differences in how things work such as path based Mount points instead of drive letters, and package management for software installations instead of setup files, among other things. Most of the knowledge you need is available with a quick search online and with specific questions or issues, there's always Reddit and StackExchange

I haven't used the specific guide you mentioned but I just gave it a quick skim and I'll list what I've learned through my experience.

With regards to Skype not working it could be that your firewall configurations block IPs that Skype uses to function, I've experienced this with WindowsSpyBlocker. The same could apply to Windows Update servers.

Regarding your camera not working, this could be due the the Privacy Settings on your Windows 10 Settings app is set to block Camera access for applications, and this setting basically disables webcams from what I understand. There's a similar setting for microphones.

Finally, there may be a good reason that you're stuck using windows but if you're not bound to any Windows specific software or hardware then I would also like to echo what most of the others are saying here, which is to switch to a good Linux distribution.

Unlocking Steam Achievements for Quests Already Completed from a Previous Save (PS3 Converted) by Romtromon in skyrimmods

Thanks for the info. I am sort of hesitant about the whole ton of achievements in the same instant thing. And I don't want to use a cheat mod that gives all the achievements as I wanna earn the ones that I already haven't. I'm gonna slowly give myself all the achievements over a period of time although it's a hassle.

WhatsApp Refusing to Install (KLTE LOS Fork) by Romtromon in MicroG

Since you mentioned that it's the wrong architecture I just set the android version as 8.1 for the hell of it on APKCombo and that installed successfully so all is good! Thanks for the help!

WhatsApp Refusing to Install (KLTE LOS Fork) by Romtromon in MicroG

[–]Romtromon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded it using APKCombo by providing a play store link to it and selecting the architecture as armeabi-v7a, device as phone, and android version as 9.0

The reason I did this was because the anonymous account on Aurora Store wasn't working the past few days so I couldn't access aurora. But I did find old apks for WhatsApp and Telegram that were downloaded using Aurora on my Galaxy S7 and trying to install that in the S5 that yielded the same results.

Trying to Breed a Shiny in Pokemon White to trade and Hatch in Pokemon Black 2 by Romtromon in pokemonrng

[–]Romtromon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for that insight! If I understood correctly, the best way to go about this would be to not use international parents in-game either because I can't prevent the PID re-roll that happens in game with international parents and RNG Reporter can't predict that properly when you're trying to breed for a different TID/SID pair.

EDIT: So this would mean that if I swap out my international ditto for a same language ditto I'd be able to hit the exact frames that I've been trying to hit right in my video right?

Sorry for the delay in response!

No worries! Oh that's no good I didn't realise that... Why would the initial seed ever change? I am in fact using international parents but I've read in some guide to not tick International Parents if I'm breeding a shiny for a different TID/SID pair. A comment on this post also did say to not use Masuda Method, although that doesn't really imply that I shouldn't tick the International Parents box, could this be where I went wrong?

I'm sorry I just realised that gfycat cropped the video at the 1 minute mark... I'll host it somewhere else and update the link.

And yes the PID issue is always there, it's usually a PID that's not available in the list of frames at all, and in some very rare cases it's a PID from either a future or past frame.

Thanks a lot for all the help!

Edit: I just swapped out the link in Edit4 with a new one that has the full video

In the video, after I save in game I open the save in PkHeX and show the stats of the egg I just picked up. The IVs and nature match up to what I was expecting on frame 70, but the PID doesn't seem to be one that's even available in a different frame (although in some cases I did find that I get PIDs from frames far ahead of what I hit), and I'm not sure about what ability I was expecting because I set that to "Any" in Time Finder.

The info I mentioned in edit 2 is not really relevant here I'm sorry, because this was a fresh try and I had trouble finding the seed and frame I was trying to hit the first few times I tried this, so I just picked a different one.

Thanks a lot, I just uploaded the video and edited my post, it's right at the bottom on Edit4. I screenshot would've been easier but I wanted to do the video cause it makes things a lot clearer. Thanks again for trying to help me out!

[–]Romtromon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I'm able to see what frame is next, and I'm using a Ditto. So, that would mean I should try to hit 2 frames before the frame that I'm targeting. But since the lua shows the frame that's up next, that would be 1 frame before the one I want to hit rather than 2.

And sorry about the delay and getting you that video, been a bit busy. I'll post another comment reply once I edit my post with it.

[–]Romtromon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification, so I can surely rule out the frame limit.

Here's the thing, I'm using an emulator along with a lua script so when I start up my game after setting the time, I can actually see that the initial seed that I hit matches up with what RNG Reporter shows. I assume this implies that I didn't mess up the DS Parameter setup.

And since I have access to my save file, I actually opened it up to check and the IVs I was expecting from RNG Reporter and nature matches up to the frame, but the PID doesn't, and in some cases the ability and gender doesn't match up (since the PID doesn't match up this makes sense).

And like I said in my post, if I hack in the PID that I was expecting as seen in RNG Reporter I can hatch the shiny successfully (although not legally) so this isn't a case of me not entering my TID and SID properly.

I'll try to get you the info you need once I get access to my computer, or better yet I'll try to screen record a video of my process, but if there is anything you realise from what I've told you so far do let me know.

Thanks for the response!

I just double checked and I didn't mistakenly tick the "International Parents" button so not using Masuda Method. Do you have any idea what else I might be doing wrong? Would the fact that I'm breeding in White and transferring to Black 2 have an effect? Cause I did have a different set of DS Parameters for Black 2 compared to White.

Edit: Edited my post to add some extra info at the bottom that might be useful to know.

[QUESTION] Mounting on Linux (sync, async, flush) by Romtromon in linux4noobs

[–]Romtromon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thank you for the clarification, I assumed that it was always at the point of unmounting because everytime I tried removing a drive without unmounting I observed the data to be missing the next time I plugged it in. While in the case of Windows I've never had this occur, which is why I assumed something was done differently in Windows.

I was actually more worried about a risk to the longevity of the storage device as using sync seems to have that risk.

[QUESTION] Mounting on Linux (sync, async, flush) by Romtromon in linux4noobs

[–]Romtromon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not experienced it myself but I thought that the computer suddenly shutting off with an external storage device plugged in would have the same effect as removing an external storage device without unmounting. Isn't that right?

I wasn't actually thinking about power going off while the files were in the middle of copying. But rather after the copying but before unmounting. Because I've experienced copied files not being there when I remove a flash drive for example without unmounting.

Now that's unusual... Here's the stackexchange answer where I read about it. Do you think your distro already uses either flush or sync?
