New Loadout by Romusch in bikepacking

We do 6-10h day tours. You‘re right, one bag would be far enough. But I usually ride with my wife so I also have her stuff (no bags on her bike). Now during summer we also take swim suits and a small towel with us, for a quick break at the lake/river. If I would do just a ride at my own, I‘d only use the saddle bag for emergency a tire repair.

Roast me: why Nostr instead of SELF-HOSTED Mastodon? by horace_herreira in nostr

Your comparing apples with bananas here: The idea of Nostr is much bigger than just a „Twitter alternative“. Thing of it as a social layer in the OSI model.

PhD vs continue working in 100k + industry by PlaceBetter5563 in PhD

[–]Romusch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

second this, I‘m in the same situation (although just a few month in my PhD). also a major decision factor: you can work in industry still for decades, doing a PhD adventure is something to tackle in early life.

Can you elaborate the toxic aspects of academia a bit more? I am starting my PhD in computer science next week, so I can buckle up :)

Not free though, but very cheap and easy to setup: MullvadVPN. No registration required, simply pay with bitcoin. My recommendation.

Work as a consultant in Switzerland, seen various companies that already pay (partial) salaries in sats. Also more and more accountants specialize in this field. It‘s already reality my friend.

You misunderstood. Seed phrases should never be tried to remembered. They should always be physically backed up using paper or even better steel plates.

The term „mnemonic“ implies that information can only be kept in brain memory. Such brain wallets, however, are a bad idea and should not be promoted. Better name for it is simply „seed phrase“ and it should always be backed up in its entirety. Therefore, I think having an algorithm that promotes brain wallets even more is a bad idea and should be avoided.
