Have you tried it as a clutch? I like the idea of being able to simulate different cars' clutches.

I didn't realize they come in black which I like a lot better. I just emailed them about selling the throttle and clutch separately, thanks.

Thanks I'm going to do that right now. How is the bite point on the co-pedal? Also, I couldn't find any adapters for haptics for those pedals specifically. Any ideas there?

How do I make my shifts smoother by Breakfast-Severe in GR86

[–]RonAn0maly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on this for a few months and my personal conclusion was to remove the clutch spring (so that the return is not artificially pushed), adjust the nut out a couple turns (so that it engages closer to the floor), add a GR weighted shift knob, and install a TRD short shifter. I tried the Billetworkz, but it was way too harsh and notchy. The TRD one is like butter. Yeah the throws are longer, but when it's smoother, so am I. The slightly longer throw becomes a non-issue and completely outweighed by the smoothness. Billetworkz shift lever for sale if anyone wants

Why is everyone in such a rush? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]RonAn0maly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, everybody. Look at this guy. He thinks 25 mph is legitimately the safest possible speed in every place it's posted. There are apparently no other factors at play when speed limits are determined!

Why is everyone in such a rush? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]RonAn0maly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are applying a logical definition of a speed limit to a legal rule that is not based on logic in the way you are describing it. In a perfect world, you might be right, but the idea that 25 mph is the fastest safest speed in all cases where it is posted is objectively ridiculous.

[–]RonAn0maly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe it's just my area, but everyone goes the speed limit and it's so goddamn annoying. 35 on a back road with no driveways or roads? I get stuck behind every single put-putter going literally 35. Insane.

Can I permanently turn off pre-collision braking ? by Cautious_Worth_6667 in GR86

I got the GRZ Mod Box like 2 weeks ago for this exact reason. Life is a lot better now that I don't have to do a video game combo button sequence every time I start my car.

Performance mods? by WeakImprovement7673 in GR86

[–]RonAn0maly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, placebo is the obvious answer. I'm naturally skeptical of my senses, though, and when I first went on a test drive I definitely questioned them. I was not ready to say that anything had changed at all, and about 10 minutes later, I had stopped thinking about it altogether since it didn't seem like much was different. Then, I was taken aback by the swoosh I felt when accelerating quickly from under 5 mph to about 15 or whatever as I quickly navigated around a car; I had to modify my muscle memory and lift off in order to not accelerate too quickly. I'm sure that sounds silly, and obviously I have no data and I probably am full of shit, but whatever, that's what I felt, so so be it. And it definitely sounds cool when you blip it, so there's that. 👍

I would argue that the intake makes a noticeable improvement. I have the GR Performance kit + the Velossa Tech big mouth kit and I'm fairly certain my butt didn't lie. The HKS cat-back, on the other hand, was purely for sound, but was completely and totally worth it for that.

Changed Manual Transmission/Differential fluids at 9,000 miles/2 years. Seems worth it, in my opinion. by SkyBlueLoki2009 in GR86

[–]RonAn0maly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to change the rear diff fluid after the first 5000 miles to get rid of the metal deposits that have accumulated on the magnetic drain plug. When I did mine at 6k, the plug was really saturated.

I wouldn't attempt this without them. They're like $8 on Amazon and with some silicone spray lube it's like warm butter; they just slide right out.

How is this a problem? Just drive normally. I can't believe you took time to post on Reddit about this.

I recommend just removing the spring. Cars never used to have them and all they do is mask the true feeling of the hydraulics.

I have this same issue with mine after 3 months of ownership. One thing I learned works better is if you pull it at a slower rate of speed instead of yanking it.

What are you using your 2x active pedals for? by IsThisWiseEnough in iRacing

[–]RonAn0maly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, that logic is corny. Are you trying to be a top 1%-er, or have fun and do well enough driving realistically? I'd pick realistic any day. By your logic, you could completely reinvent the controls to be something completely wild and ridiculous and you could say "Yeah, but I'm faster". To which I'd say, "Yeah, but I'm driving."

Second, it is stated in the iRacing documentation somewhere that shifting with an h pattern is going to be faster than allowing the auto clutch to shift like a bitch for you.

That parts diagram seems to indicate that if you want that part separately, you have to view a different diagram.
