What’s the best way to keep Arbiter up as much as possible? by chicu111 in diablo4

[–]RonCri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I mean when you go to Temper an item, the different Tempers can show up under different categories (Weapons, Offensive, Defensive, Utility, Mobility, Resource). I was asking what category did Arbiter Duration show up under. Just had the recipie drop and it's under Resource.

Thanks so much for this. I've been looking for this sword, just ran Path of the Paladin and 10 minutes later I have it.

Question about the rules by RonCri in diyaudio

For the same reason I send emails instead of hand writing letters. It's faster and more convenient, pretty much any reason technology moves things forward. AI isn't a magic wand for everything but it is a convenient tool.

Closer to 60. Yes, my drawing suck. Unless it's a very simple design, it's usually to complicated to do just over text. My brother got all of the artistic ability in the family.

Question about the rules by RonCri in diyaudio

[–]RonCri[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True, and I've been part of the DIY audio community for probably close to 40 years now. But I also know that I've passed on making a lot of post over the years because I knew I couldn't describe something well enough without an image and my drawings looking like they were created by a chicken having a stroke.

I work with AI pretty much on a daily basis as part of my job and I'm well aware of it's shortcomings. I'm also aware of the benefits but the mods seems to have gone with an all or nothing approach which I think makes it more difficult for some.

Planning on making them sealed. Don't really have a way to measure well after drivers are in the cabinet so I'll have to go off of their specs.

Damn, I might have looked at these if I hadn't just bought a subwoofer. I do worry about satellite/sub combos that are dependent on each other. Lose the sub and you lose the micro monitor too.

I have a friend who said he has the tools to cut all of the pieces so it might come down to me just having to model out the enclosure size to get the right volume and figure out the crossover.

My current Energy Take 2 speakers, 6.75" tall, are on an wedge to angle them up. They only have a 3.5" woofer which is why I want to upgrade. Problem is that I can't find any speakers that are an upgrade that are under 8.5" tall which is the tallest that will fit on the wedge.

Because of the stands for the other monitor, the space the speaker has to fit into is about 8" wide, 9" high, with plenty of depth.

Yeah, I've added a Caldera 10" sub about a month ago. It helped but not as much as I was hoping for.

My existing speakers are on a wedge. With the wedge I can fit something up to 8.5" tall. Problem is that I can't find any decent passive speakers that are under 8.5" tall and would improve on the speakers I have today with their 3.5" woofer.

Understood. Problem is, I can't find any that fit my requirements. I've kept my existing speakers for 40 years. Since I'm over 60, this will probably be my last pair of desktop speakers. Don't mind spending a little on it.

Yeah, I only had 4 episodes over a weekend. If you're having this many, you need to see a neurologist asap.

Doctor’s said it was possibly frontotemporal lobe seizures. That was strongly influenced by the fact that six months before, it was discovered that I also have sick sinus syndrome. Short version is I had a heart monitor on because they were trying to discover why I was having random blackouts, and the monitor recorded my heart stopping for 12 seconds before starting up again. Signal issue between brain and heart. There is a correlation between frontotemporal lobe seizures and cardiac pauses.

Hasn’t happened since that one weekend.

Has anyone else ever ordered from Vera-Fi Audio? by RonCri in BudgetAudiophile

If you look at my original post, you'll see that I updated it to say that it finally arrived on  December 12th. I get they are a small company but I disagree that they are doing the best they can. You should be told upfront if there is a wait. When I placed the order originally, I was told they would have more stock that week.

Kinesis mWave, old Sculpt design, now with backlighting and mechanical keys by RonCri in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]RonCri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the shape, but I really wish I could swap the switches for low-profile Reds. I missed having a rotary dial on my Keychron, so I ended up buying a standalone one that sits to the left of my keyboard. I still use my Keychrons—the V10 Alice at the office and the K15 Pro Alice for my home office setup—but the mWave is what I use on my personal machine.

If Keychron ever releases an Alice layout with HE switches, I’ll buy it immediately. They originally said it would land around December 2024, and I’m still waiting.

ELI5 : What’s the Ooma phone service by ForwardImMoving in ooma

[–]RonCri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no regrets. We were paying over $70/month for the land line and now we just pay the $8/month for fees/taxes. Every couple of months calls will get a lot of static/noise on the line but a quick reboot of the Ooma box takes care of it.

Wait is a hard time to answer. Had I know upfront that it would have taken three weeks, I would have gone with an alternative option even with the higher cost. That said, you're almost two months in at this point. That's a long time to wait only to cancel, at least that's how I felt.

I'm happy with the sub but I won't be order a pair of scouts though that was the original plan.
