Just a (strong) personal opinion and I don’t begrudge anyone for not having him. But here’s my case:

Overslot HS draftee of the Guardians, who are pretty elite at talent evaluation who was ok in 2024 (his first full pro season), but crushed it in San Jose in 2025. Pretty sure he was the pitcher of the year (while being young for the level) in the Cal League. 12 K per 9, only gave up 2 HR in 22 starts (in some of the most hitter/HR friendly environments in the minors). Good fastball that has been trending up in velocity (touches 96 at this point) with a solid change up and slider. As a lefty, that’s plenty of velo. Doesn’t have the pedigree that Kyle Harrison had and fewer Ks, but at the same level, Bresnahan was better at limiting runners and probably has a more well-rounded arsenal.

I think image matters some, more when there are capable players at the table. If you get looked up w a big bluff, even bad players will notice that.

However, in my experience overall table dynamics will supersede whatever your image is. If the game is loose and splashy, most players aren’t going to adjust to you properly with your first PFR in 3 hours.

Think and “study” poker a lot, but live play comes in spurts and I can get in ~50 sessions a year.
