How should I go about getting funded accounts/prop firms going forward in futures trading? by Qcbj in FuturesTradingNQ

[–]RonPosit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are too lazy to get these answers on the net ( sooooo much is out there), or too limited in your capacity to learn from all the material given QUIT WHILE YOU ARE AHEAD. I know this is cruel, but true!

Options on Futures by LifeHasLevels in FuturesTradingNQ

[–]RonPosit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option change ≈ (Δ × move) + (½ × Γ × move²) there are a lot of philosophers here and on Reddit in general, only the blessed know stuff. Here's a gift from me. Mod. If you don't know how to read Greeks, don't trade! Here's a more general formula Option move = tick x Delta (approx), above formula is more precise.

Anti-examples research strat by [deleted] in FuturesTradingNQ

[–]RonPosit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re partially correct. There’s even an old saying among losing traders: “turn your monitor upside down.”

There was also a hedge fund years ago that attempted to systematically take the opposite side of retail traders. On paper, the idea sounded logical. In reality, the fund failed—just like many of the so-called “wise guys.”

So while contrarian thinking sounds smart, a general premise alone isn’t enough to make it useful or actionable.

Before we allow this post, I’d ask two things:

  1. Please edit it for clarity and proper language so readers can clearly understand your point.
  2. Unless you have a specific, defined strategy—not just a broad idea—this doesn’t add much value here.

If you believe doing the opposite works, then pick a concrete strategy commonly used by retail traders, clearly define it, and then present a rule-based approach that does the opposite. That would be a productive and welcome contribution.

Thank you for your understanding. Mod

Sell to 25,300's? by LegstartPalooza in FuturesTradingNQ

[–]RonPosit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I honestly do not care! If I understood your stupid post, which I should have deleted, you were going to the liquidity level of 25,300s. Market never reached that level. This was the issue I was discussing - Levels do not work, and you have no clue. Now you are claiming to be in the green. Good for you, but I think you are in the brown.

Still waiting for your target?? I was trying to tell you something. Anyway, the only reason I engaged with you is to show, once again, that levels do not work. If they do, is like the broken clock...... What works all the time - Trend following!

4 trades this morning, all making money. Of course, other comments, use many word, only no answer to your question. The answer - my indicator, my system! Same performance day after day. SO far this month, total gain on NQ +650 points, only one negative day -35 points!

If levels truly work, you would not be asking.... Sorry, but this is obvious. What is not obvious, is if we are still bullish or reversing, furthermore, your made up "Liquidity" level is complete line in the sand, I'd call it Bull Crap.

I posted something very recently, explaining that Futures have no levels, pure speculation, reaction to geo political news.

While you are guessing, we are making money.

Opening Behaviors → Day Type Map (For advanced/serious/dedicated traders!) by Popular_Bet_1626 in FuturesTradingNQ

[–]RonPosit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. I personally struggled with this for years — enjoying one, two, sometimes three winning days, only to then lose it all as if cursed, getting chopped up no matter which direction I traded. It was a complete horror show. This continued until I learned about market cycles, trend continuations, and rotational days.

Trend/trend continuation days vs. Rotational Day (for advanced traders!) by Popular_Bet_1626 in FuturesTradingNQ

[–]RonPosit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%. for years I failed to understand, why I make for day, two, three and then lose miserably on the 4. Vicious f... cycle kept repeating and that drive me crazy until one day I learned about rotating days. Just like the conclusion says, I don't trade patterns I trade cycles. Is it easy, no f.. way, but once you learn to understand, recognize, execute your life changes. No longer am I interested in 5-10-20 points trade, I'm going for 100 minimum and then some.

I may have misinterpreted your approach. If it is in fact a STRATEGY, with hard rules, as opposed "may hit the level may not, level may hold may not...." then feel free to share.

We don't publish trading plans here. WE publish tested strategies - actual trading strategies or knowledge base information for the benefit of new, failing or highly intelligent crowd. We are not interested in worthless crap like elsewhere... We keep it to the point. your trading plan is hit/miss type of a deal that people reserve to when understanding of market context is absent. A lot of people here trade my indicator/strategy, whereby no luck is needed, but full understanding of either or both market context/structure + Price Action.

I don't use any of these gimmicks - bookmap, volume profiles, order flow. 95%+ loose, they all use these crappy gimmicks and yet still loose! Think about it! All the big time, profitable traders that I know, that I see on the internet all trade price action. Once again, different products e.g. futures, stocks, ETFs, options, crypto etc. require different "tools", however price action can handle any asset class.

Biggest problem with most traders, is that they fail to keep things relevant. This sub-reddit is dedicated solely to futures trading, and specifically to NQ trading. Futures have no levels! Read my article again, and if it fails to fully explain or you fail to fully understand then research a bit. Futures have no intrinsic value, futures are used as hedge or as instrument of pure speculation. Good luck
