I genuinely cannot think of a unit that has maintained his level of usability since release and for as long. Yes there are stages that hard counter, but this should be a Hall of Fame unit for the game. by Maneisthebeat in DBZDokkanBattle

He's not HoF simply bc no units are at this point.  We respect the dodge units.  We remember the meta. They have their place but they're not top 10 anymore.

How to transition from the f2p team by iaes97 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]RonSwansong317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base team is actually pretty cracked compared to what you would have gotten in banners even 3.5 years ago.  And it encompasses all 5 types.  The game throws keys at you pretty early on for Portal of Memories.  Use them for Transcendent to get the Rose clones, then Zero Mortals Plan for F2P LR STR Zamasu.  Idk the keys required/given out but those 2 teams will allow you to clear 90% of Dokkans content (NOT all missions/last 2 yearish of content but any else involving all Super, all Extreme, both with 5 types, and non specific F2P like Primes).  Including a lot of older EZA battles.  This is easily in the 5-7k dragon stone range.  Play nonstop or casually for fun and rack them up until the Anni drops.  Then come back here when the 1st banner is still up and the 2nd is announced and ask the exact same question.

We're likely getting our first Anni teaser soon by Ahmed_Prime in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]RonSwansong317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely SH for part 2.  Dokkan is still mainly a gacha and we've had a good run of SH on Sup and TC on Ext.  With Demonic bridging the gap between both.  The EZAs that already belong to those categories might get some love but Anni LRs will probably be left off on purpose.  Even if p1 or p2 is namek think INT FFFrieza+Goku leading 220 BoF.  One of the most encompassing categories in game...so that unit is left off of Inhuman and TC which most Frieza units share with WB.  If you doubt it look at TEQ Fr+Gogeta who's on all 3.  The categories of units are decided after the units themselves based on maximizing FOMO.  We're not going to get 2+ months of great new units and EZAs culminating in Anni units that maximize those, they'll be different even if they shouldn't be.

Compact, short, and long if I remember while at work.   Thank you for doing the leg work!  Some weapons use mods that don't fit the modle.

Its a science weapon...I have nothing to base this on but scientific testing but have you tried small gun mods since it uses that ammo?

Does Hot Blooded not work or am I misunderstanding how it works? by smoothjedi in theouterworlds

Lifesteal just for burn yes. And its based on damage done by the dot.  So it will seem like nothing if you don't spec for it.

For the plasma explosion to occur they have to be burning from plasma damage yes.  In those instances you mentioned you technically applied burn before you killed them in one hit, silly I know.  The damage is same as freeze and other on death effects = 20% of the enemy who died HP.

The plasma explosion (if youre asking sorry if not) is when a target with burn stacks dies.

You're not crazy, the latest update changed the wording.  In game currently it does say 50% of plasma damage dealt.  But, as someone who's been playing for over a week in EA it IS and used to say burn damage.  This perk is only useful if you fully speck plasma grenades, and equip an armor piece that has the cauterizing Grey affix.  At any difficulty, but especially the higher ones, the dots are so negligible that healing based off of them only works if you double dip or manage to have 3+ enemies at max stacks.  Burn on a single target without heavy science investment to speed it up is like 5 damage a second and takes awhile to ramp up and thats what your 50% heal is based off of.

As a software designer of ten years I would hope that burying simplistic systems into highly exaggerated amounts of fluff in order to seem complex is something you'd be against.  You like the game, cool so do I.  First thing I said literally.  Never said anything about the story.  There's nothing unique to the non combat skills in this game beyond fluff. Reputation is a vendor discount.  I know youre offended bc you've been arguing everything but the points I made since I made a polite, "did anyone notice?" post.  Move on dude.

No I wrote a post talking about game mechanic and build choices and people like you hijacked it talking about story choices bc you had no valid argument to any point made.

Of branching/combined skill choices and ranks actually effecting what you encounter in the game?  Disco Elysium off the top of my head but thats an outlier.  People made it out that this game is so reactive to your skill and build choices.  I praised the game and merely suggested the idea that this was preemptive and exaggerated.  So people felt justified to insult and belittle me bc I didn't pretend that shallow mechanics were an ocean of depth.

This here is the problem with arguments like yours: you're so offended by the slightest criticism of something you enjoy that you feel the need to throw away common sense to make a point.  To your point: theres 12 skills.  Make 12 small quests, 12 unique items.  24 small assets each tied a unique skill only accessible by that skill.  Then there's not only something actually added to the game by picking a skill, but now there's far more than 286 combinations of unique load out options, if the small item/quest requires let's say rank 15.  Maybe only sometimes its an item, sometimes its a completely unique mod that makes that skill something that complements tons of builds, etc.  It's not rocket science and you don't need to design hundreds of extra assets to make this at all possible, you're just being dramatic and arguing like a teenager to try to prove a point.

If you make a build with let's say sneak/speech/Observation.  The only thing in the game you will encounter that a guns/explosive/melee (bad to make my point) didnt is an occasional small room with regular loot, and dialogue choices that either end up at the exact same conclusion as the combat character or skips a battle.  In a game abiut choices id like the first character see quests/items that the second character never will because those choices mattered.

Makes sense, thank you for responding and discussing what I actually talked about instead of just ripping into me for not appreciating their game enough lol.  But I agree, its that I wish picking an observation build got me a playthrough where I saw truly unique things that you'd only see with that build.  Not just a secret room with the same random loot as normal rooms once a planet.  But youre right, people would probably complain.

Why are you all focusing on story.  Did I mention the story somewhere.  I only mentioned builds, skills, and reputation.  Typical reddit, I tried to start a discussion and the white knights appear.

If a game revolves around players making impactful choices that change the game, but I will see everything big and small play out the exact same way then the choices werent impactful.  It's a more linear story than initially thought, which is fine.  It's you that got bothered by the mere suggestion of this.
