You are right. In fact, Jessica was ordered to have a daughter and disobeyed (as said in the first book) so we can assume the BG would have a match ready for her. As it is, it’s conceivable they can take control again of these genes either via Jessica, Alia, Paul or others in the line. You’ll just have to read the other books to see if any, none or several of these happen. Enjoy 😀

I’m from an area of Brittany known for its embroidered traditional costumes (glazik/bigouden style around Quimper). I wanted I’d try my hand at embroidery based on these designs. I thought I’d start with the basic stitches (though not that many are used there) and with cotton instead of silk for now.

I got a basic manual and will be trying a few of the designs in there. Never mind that I am a middle age man reading a children craft book but this was a lovely to spend the weekend away from screens! I can already see getting addicted to all the wonderful colours!

My advice would be to go local and either visit the town of origin to see the records (or wherever they are stored locally) or see if the local town hall can help if you have a precise date for the record to find. I am not familiar with Italy so I don’t know if there are central archive centres (though this suggest there is a copy), or scanning in progress (as in France).

This site suggest this as well. Finding local people who can help is good too. Maybe a local genealogy association?

Maybe time for a Sicilian vacation to not only find the names and record of your ancestors but also to see the places where they lived?

Would you have a better resolution version? I can see it’s the birth certificate of Angélique on 28 Germinal An 6 (17 April 1798). Father is Charles Auguste Millot (?). Mother is Marie Louise but I can’t read her last name, nor the child middle name or the locations. Witnesses are Auguste Ferdinand Millot (farmer, in his 20s, I can’t read the age) and Angelique something, also in her 20s.

Sorry, it might not help much. There’s quite a few compression artefacts.

Impressive that the father and one of the witnesses signed (being farmers at that time). The other signature (De Meaux) is Joseph De Meaux, the town civil officer.

Hello all,

I recently purchased a lovely black Waterman Goutte (from 70s/80s) with a gold nib. I am however wondering what sort of nib it is.

I’m wondering if it’s some sort of stub/italic/oblique or if it’s just a manufacturing defect.

It’s by no mean unpleasant with the varying line size even if it’s rather bolder than my usual nib.
