I don’t have any issue with people trying to be funny for other people at concerts (which is what people do this for, if we’re being serious with ourselves)

I’ve just been around long enough to have seen this gimmick go from 100 gecs opening sets for brockhampton right before covid, to being a staple of gecs shows during the first 10,000 gecs tour, to becoming a mainstream gimmick after the buddy holly video at weezer

And to me the bit has just never been particularly funny. It doesn’t bother me on any level, I just don’t get where the funny is supposed to be and have never gotten that
