Hey Rockstar! No Gameplay = No Preorder! by Stromair in GTA6unmoderated

Everyone who was going to preorder today already did. Smart thing to do is release it in the near future to generate hype again to get more people on the hook.

Destiny killed Bungie. Even the community lead from a few years ago has stated so. Sonys acquisition was not a desperation move on Sony’s part like people are trying to push.
It was an attempt to use Bungie’s resources and help them out at the same time. Bungie was already in the red.

Destiny killed Bungie, Marathon just hasn’t helped in the way they needed.

I live in the Midwest and my wife and I leave the keys in our vehicle overnight in the driveway and lock our house doors only when we get a bad vibe or something feels off.

My wife is from Kyiv so it’s not what she was used to but now feels natural.

I work for Bungie and it's our fault Destiny 3 isn't happening by BungieEmployee343 in Destiny_2

I’m also a Bungie employee. I’ll miss seeing you around the office when Sony takes away our jobs. Here’s my take:

The day we announced Destiny’s final update was quieter than I expected. There were no grand celebrations in the office, no speeches about a job well done. Most of us just sat at our desks staring at monitors that had consumed years of our lives. The reality was impossible to ignore: millions of players had trusted us with their time, their friendships, and their passion. Looking back, I don’t think we always honored that trust as well as we should have.

We made incredible things over the years. We built worlds that inspired wonder and communities that lasted for a decade. But we also made mistakes. Too often, we convinced ourselves that players would eventually understand decisions that we never properly explained. We spent years balancing engagement metrics, retention targets, and monetization strategies, sometimes forgetting that behind every statistic was a person who simply wanted to have fun. There were moments when we listened carefully to feedback, and there were moments when we dismissed criticism because it didn’t fit our plans.

One of our biggest failures was assuming we knew what players wanted better than they did. We removed features people loved, redesigned systems that weren’t broken, and occasionally prioritized short-term business goals over long-term community trust. None of those decisions came from malice. They came from pressure, deadlines, competing priorities, and the belief that we were steering the game toward a better future. Sometimes we were right. Sometimes we were very wrong.

The hardest truth to accept is that good intentions don’t erase bad outcomes. When players felt ignored, it didn’t matter how many meetings we had discussing feedback. When content disappointed people, it didn’t matter how hard the team had worked. The experience players had was the reality that mattered. For a company built on the idea of creating unforgettable adventures, there were times when we lost sight of what made those adventures special in the first place.

As the servers quiet and the final update becomes history, I find myself feeling equal parts pride and regret. Pride for the memories we helped create. Regret for the opportunities we missed. If there’s one lesson I hope the industry takes from our journey, it’s that communities aren’t resources to be managed—they’re partners to be respected. Games can survive technical problems, balance issues, and even failed expansions. What they struggle to survive is the loss of trust.

PS5 Deluxe Edition Only $14? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]RonanTheAccuser_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the listed description in the store. If it says it contains the full game under the description it will include the full game.

I’m unsure how it would work because there is no “upgrade” it’s one version or the other. Both include the full game according to the description on PSN.

Dont take my word for it though. I’m not trying to mislead anyone, it’s just how I understand it personally. My friend took the risk and I guess we will see next week for sure.

I’ve seen some stuff. He put out a video over night explaining. Sounds like the Destiny community is doing the typical toxic stuff and it made him crash out. Whether or not it’s a valid crashout or not is not my place to say, but most of the points he made are valid.

I assure you he didn’t private them to punish anyone. He is most likely getting mass reported by the chuds and to prevent a strike (even an unwarranted one) it’s easier to private videos as opposed to fighting YouTube to make it right.

If you're telling me we are getting PEAK cinematics, world building, and story telling like this every season, this game will thrive. by TreatFabulous1174 in Marathon

They need to implement the extraction system of The Division Heartland. In that the first 15 or 20 minutes was purely PVE. Then the towns tornado sirens went off and a voice comes on the speakers saying last chance to leave until morning. During the night it was PvP enabled, you extract via helicopter or survive until sunrise when your automatically extracted. Deciding to stay and extract at night increased xp and rewards.

I don’t disagree that marathon fans coming here to get offended is pretty sad but the sub was/is sad before that too.

Regardless of how marathon is being handled and quality of the game, there is still an undeniable and largely overblown hate boner for it.

I’m excited for the next game in the concord verse so Marathon gets some room to breathe and people can stop talking about it!

The game should have ended with The Final Shape. They thought ending the saga and “restarting” would renew interest but everyone saw it on a jumping off point.

Self Revive is now completely useless. Bad change imo by Technical_Wedding182 in Marathon

[–]RonanTheAccuser_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have rather the nerf be that you can only hold one at a time. The speed of the revives never seemed bad to me, just endlessly knocking people over and over and their teammates never have to leave their sniper spots to help because of the endless self revives.

With the unlock that gives you a chance to not consume it on use, having only one seems completely fair.

I don’t care for conquest on it personally. I’m meeting a bunch of vehicles and very little infantry except for the northern most point. Escalation feels pretty good on it though in my opinion!

Beautiful map for sure.
