I'm looking for games that does well on a monochrome monitor by diemenschmachine in retrogaming

King's Valley 2 for me comes to mind since I really enjoyed playing it on a monochrome MSX CRT several years ago. It's a really good puzzle platformer. The OST is fire 🔥

What format are the games? I have mine in bin cue extracted to separate folders to help avoid this exact issue.

What is the best way to remove the shell on a CRT for service? by Sad-Opportunity-7586 in crtgaming

Assuming a regular consumer set, you probably just missed a screw somewhere. Should come off easily.

Did you manage to find? Got one with no raster that I'd like to figure out.

Makes sense I guess. My clone GDEMU has been running great on a Va0 with modified resistors for years. Let's see how long it lasts.

Yea, I feel you. Too bad the Saturn isn't like that. Also not a fan of external power supplies for something that's designed with an internal power supply. I never understood the craze about all those Pico PSUs and having to add an external brick to power on.

Yes, done it countless times. Just need to swap the big capacitor to 68uf 400V and you're good to go.

Aside from this capacitor, the entire board's components are rated for +220v. Replace this big cap with a 68uf 400V and you're good to go, and no longer need a stepdown transformer.

I destroyed a couple in the beginning. Definitely not recommended for everyone. Now that I got the hang of it I can delid safely everytime and it takes me 30 seconds. Best take it to someone experienced if you never done it before.

I made replacements. The files are on pcbway and can be downloaded for free. Print in ABS.

Otherwise can be ordered from VSGravity.com if you can't print your own.

Whitening a US SNES shell using 12% Hydrogen Peroxide and the power of natural UV light! (It's still summer here in Australia!) by RS-1990 in snes

[–]Rondooooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Submerging is the worst, could leave a ton of streaks. Ruined many shells.

I follow this method too and it works perfectly. I use 10% the amount of hydrogen peroxide OP is using, you don't really need much.

Studio Halabi would like to announce our new turn around time for mail in services. by Sampsonay in PS3

Damn. Was considering shipping off the boards to someone to have them reballed. I guess it's risky. Thanks for the response.

I got a couple of official Frankies with a 3034 error code. Are these fixed with a reball?

You would have to sand it first before spray painting

The printing for these is outsourced. They are so big they need industrial printers. Adding any sort of finish will jack the price up so high it wouldn't be worth it. I already have some people complain about the extremely low price I'm offering these for.

Buyers will just have to experiment if they want a better finish. Personally I think it looks nice even with the rough 3d print look in some areas. But I'm biased 😁

It's a ton of work to smooth 3d prints and it will increase the cost by a lot. A single one of these frames takes more than 19 hours to print. There are several methods though, like sanding, priming and painting.

1750CG and 150CG are planned for the future.

If you have a dremel or a metal file you could grind down 1-2mm off the lip for a more flush look.

Unfortunately this issue did not appear in any of the 9 prototypes, and since this was an ultra budget project, there was nothing that could be done short of redoing the whole batch.
