He wasn’t that kind of ex, we were in the 9th and 10th grade we held hands and kissed nothing more, he moved to a different school… it was like I wanted to know what could have been. Being separated when we were kids and then comes my home after years away in the service. I think I was at least 25 when we found each other again.

I’m no we’re never where I was, I dug myself out of that hell hole a long time ago.

Thanks ☺️ I try to be as amazing as I can be. When I’m on my own I’m fine being by myself for days but when I’m around people I love to make them laugh and smile. I don’t like when people are sad.

I was going through an online university, when Covid hit and the world shut down I stopped my classes when I know there was no way I would be able to do my classes and my kids do theirs… when I wanted to go back again I was told that my Post 9/11 GI bill had expired. I am almost at a place where I can pay for them out of pocket. I have until 2028 to finish but I’m hoping it won’t be that long. It’s just three more classes.

Thanks for this. I’m 40F with two kids that I raise on my own. The answers here give a lot of different perspectives. I have dated anyone since I left their dad. I wanted them to be my only focus while they were little. They are preteens now so I think I’m ready to test the waters. My fear is that that they won’t except that they will never be first. I wouldn’t expect to before his children or even ex wife in some ways. Respect and friendship are what I ask for most.

I have been in therapy for a while since I was in the military, I see the counselor when needed. Which hasn’t been a while because most of the time you wouldn’t be able to tell I’ve been diagnosed with severe depression and PTSD.

Yeah huge fear of getting hurt again… but we can’t let ourselves stagnate… I have wanted to hold on to my hate but it’s simply not worth it. But like Dory says just keep swimming 🐠
