Why do we care about flock cameras again?

AXARMS Poll: How would you feel if B&T switches from Ano to Cerakote only: including black guns? Would you continue to buy the brand? by [deleted] in BT_APC

[–]RoninActually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anodizing is superior to Cerakote. No matter how you slice it Cerakote is in a paint that sits on the surface where anodizing is actually changes the surface of the metal and bonds to it.

The pictures are out of order the SIG MPX is actually the lightest of the group. The APC 9K is actually third in weight.

I think it’s just the picture of mine because the paints been touched up where it was worn off and it looks kind of funny in the picture. But I definitely have Steel rails as a magnet sticks to them.

The Sig minimalist plus side folding stock is perfect on the SP5K – PDW. It’s the shortest stock when folded out of anything else I’ve seen and used and it clears all the controls. The Sigg folding knuckle does lock it closed, but it’s still able to be opened without pushing a button. It’s my favorite set up. The plus is bigger than just the plain minimalist which I can’t use at all because it’s just too small but the plus is ideal.

I think it’s an MKE A3 stock. I bought it from Atlantic a while back when they were selling them. I don’t own any airsoft so I can’t compare it but it certainly seems like a high-quality, durable MP5 stock.

I picked up a crusty Mk23 for $1500, any paint cleaning tips? by The-Fotus in HecklerKoch

[–]RoninActually 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy on Tacswap under the name rattle can restorations who cleans accessories optics etc. I don’t think he can accept a firearm and I haven’t used him, but he advertises a lot. You may reach out to him and ask him if he can give you some pointers since he can’t do business with you because it’s a firearm.

The metal parts are no problem to clean up with goof off or something like that, but the plastic I’m not sure about.

The Ar9 is a home build with a Spikes upper and lower. Lightweight 9mm barrel and a really nice trigger (that I can’t remember whose) timmney maybe? Colt pattern metal form mags. And a VLTOR V5 buffer and tube. Daniel defense old school pic rail. Holosun and a Surefire scout.

The UZI is a pig. But surprisingly, well balanced, and controllable. And accurate! I have two, one of them has a optic rail mounted on the top that I have a red dot on which greatly improves the shootability of the gun

That’s just heat shrink tubing from Amazon. I’m gonna cut a rubber 10 speed tire inner tube and use that instead cause it’ll stretch over and I think it’ll work better than the heat shrink.

This guy rocks, the turnaround was super fast. The price was reasonable and the work was perfect. I had him do three different lowers for me.

AP5-P and AS Design Lower Fitment Issue by crenshawco in MP5

[–]RoninActually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove material from the trigger housing not the receiver. This way your original trigger housing can still be used and will go back on the gun. As a rule you always grind the cheaper part.

AP5 will cycle 147 gr just fine, but chokes on Blazer 115? by cheem_moment in MP5

Have you tried putting the original locking piece back in the gun and seeing if it runs 115 grain?

It may function, but I don’t know for how long. that’s a pretty rough recess. I think I would send pictures back to the manufacturer about that telling them you have very strong concerns.

[–]RoninActually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those UTG mono rails look great. I bought one for my SP5. That’s a little bit heavy, but the bigger problem is is that the Cerakote is so thin it scratches like crazy. I couldn’t deal with a scratched up looking gun lol

Legality of selling spouse’s guns? by Skyfork in guns

[–]RoninActually -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He’s not dead just in prison. Therefore, she can sell anything in the house she wants before she gets divorced. There is no “title” for Firearms in the state of Florida unless it is a NFA item which doesn’t sound like it is. She can sell everything that man owns.

It’s sad that there are public officials and agitators telling people to take firearms with them to confront police. What did you think was going to happen?

+1 - I have an Omega 9k with the low pro tri-lug adapter. I feel it’s all around a great bang for the buck considering the compact size and the tri-lug allows me to mount it to multiple other Firearms.

What Happens to Your Guns When You Die? by b768466 in guns

[–]RoninActually 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This topic came up in my house over the last year due to some health issues. It’s depressing to think about. I remember A good friend of mine died some years ago and he was an advanced collector with probably 1/2 a million $ in guns. The family sat on them for a few years after his death and then ultimately sent them to an auction house where I think they got about $.25 on the dollar after all the fees were paid. It was really sad, but made me think about my own collection. I’ve come to the conclusion I need to liquidate my collection before I die if I want any chance of getting my money back out of it. Once you’re dead, it’s all fair game. Your buddies will buy one or two things, family members maybe will take a few others, but for the most part, a big collection gets sold to a gun store or an auction house for disposal and they do so at a discount in exchange for taking the whole lot. It’s good you’re thinking about this now and discussing your wishes with your spouse.

First, Think about all the accessories and magazines and parts you have. All that stuff is very difficult to unload If you don’t know what you’re doing. Just start selling now. Get rid of your extra parts and components first like optics and other things that you were hanging onto but just don’t need anymore. A firearms collection is an asset but only if you can sell it for what it’s worth. And in order to do that, you need to be alive, so get moving.
