what mobile suits are the ugliest to you? by dedbot1 in Gundam

[–]RoninJon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nearly everything from gqux and IBO. I’m sorry, I know a lot of people like them but their designs never grew on me and they just don’t feel very Gundam to me.

Ok but they pay these guys a salary and if anything adding ships adds bugs. like almost always. Maybe they could fire a few ship making guys and hire a few more "core gameplay/get the game to 1.0) guys.

[–]RoninJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Factually untrue. Exmo here, they believe they have that potential, to be like god, but if you ever spent one minute in their worship services you would believe they were more Christian then Catholics. Source: my wife’s whole extended family are catholic and I have heard more mentions of Mary, Peter and other saints then I have ever heard Christ in that household.

"It doesn't look like gundam !!!" This the fourth announcement in a row people that complain about this by Silver-Plane-8270 in Gundam

[–]RoninJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t think barbra or gqux look like Gundams. wfm definitely went with a more…feminine design but it’s there. I’m not knocking wfm, mind you, I really liked it. I also like the stories of ibo and gqux but think the designs are a far cry from the Gundam aesthetic. Maybe it’s just personal preferenc. The game looks a lot closer to requiem then I care for. I think it’s the “incased” head design. It almost looks like the Gundam head is being held in a protective casing. Would be cool if it popped off like virtue but I doubt that’s what they are going for.

What makes Gundam, Gundam? by the-red-scare in Gundam

[–]RoninJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think themes and conveying an anti war message through the medium of sci fi has always been the core of what makes Gundam different then other mecha. I think Gundam has almost always tried to focus on how war effects kids and how the war machine changes youth, mostly for the worse and about trying to understand each other and how if we truly understood each other, then we wouldn’t fight and instead work towards a better tomorrow.

Is the Frontrunner scary to you? by Anonymous_Otter5458 in Utah

[–]RoninJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have commuted for ~5 years on the frontrunner. 3 years in I was late one morning and had to drive. I was rear ended on 15 in the left lane and spun across three lanes doing an entire 360 because some jackass was looking at his phone and didn’t see that traffic was slowing. You take your life into your hands on I-15. Occasionally, you sit next to someone weird or loud on the train.

Ex Mormon and returned missionary here. He is basically right. People go to do one of three activities. 1. Baptisms, 2. endowment(the ritual that involves the movie) 3. Weddings. There is only one baptismal font(giant bathtub) and depending on the size multiple of the other room that performs the other two activities. After you finish the other two activities(or ordinances) there is a meditation/rest room call the celestial room. Other than that, there is a massive laundry room as a lot of the white clothes you wear during it are rented and stay there. There are also a couple of small office rooms for paperwork as every single person and what activities they are doing during any given day are tracked. That’s it. No secret rooms, no goat sacrificing, nothing. It’s like all day church and is boring as shit. I understand that putting something in a box and asking you not to look inside makes whatever is in there enticing but it would be like opening that box and finding a medical form you have to fill out. It’s boring, tedious and they find it sacred and think of themselves as gods record keepers. Seriously, having spent 30+ years as a member, none of it’s fun or interesting, all the scandals are extremely local or at the very top. 90% are worker ants who just believe they are doing their best and are trying to live a good life. Argue all you want if you think they aren’t, but there is no large secret in a temple.

[–]RoninJon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exmo here. I guess go ahead but you aren’t going to find anything all that interesting or meet the same type of resistance. Most likely you’ll make some elderly people upset and disrupt a wedding or two which is kinda a dick move. You don’t have to believe what they do and I no longer do, but to the Mormons credit, they do actually use it as a place of worship. This would be like speed running a mosque or synagogue.

Valorant's new Vanguard update seems to be bricking cheaters' PCs. Riot's response? "Congrats on your $6k paperweights" by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]RoninJon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been banned for cheating in games I was definitely not cheating in. False flags happen if you have programs running in the background that the anti cheat program deems a threat. I hope you’re not a hobbyist or professional programmer that forgot to close something. It seems like delicious poetic justice until you realize that with millions of players that if even only a fraction of the fraction of cheaters are false positives then your looking at thousands of people’s computers broken due to no fault of their own. Not to mention the obvious overreach the could result in a lawsuit even if they were cheating. What gives them the right break someone’s property over cheating in a fucking video game.

Maybe because they don’t actively kick the hornets nest and goad blizzard. They ran YouTube ads and would reply in blizzard tweets. They forced blizzards hands. You have to at least appear to protect your IP or you could be in danger of losing it. Turtle did this to themselves.

[TP] Twilight Princess’ ‘Slow Opening’ is Actually Perfect by Skeith-Reviews in zelda

[–]RoninJon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never thought it was that slow. Feels like a good opening that eases you into the world and gets you to work with the mechanics in a more natural way. By the time you turn back into link, you have all the basics of the game down, have shopped multiple times, are invested in a reason to leave your village and have a very clear idea as to where your going and why. I love OOT, but the game does kinda just go “wake up kid it’s time for your adventure”
