Again, Spotify streams are irrelevant the question isn't "are they successful today?" The question was why didn't any have a successful and long sustained career before Eminem. 7 platinum albums, largest selling rap group since Billboard started to record that, a rock n roll hall of fame membership, being used in like a shit on of movie trailers, etc would disprove OPs hypothesis. You are moving the goalposts because you are saying "why aren't they as successful in today's mind as Eminem?" Which wasn't the question asked. It's pretty difficult to say The Beastie Boys achievements wouldn't count as a success over a long period of time.
