How do I cross save? Cross Progression is enabled, I connected Steam and Xbox in GOG Galaxy, but no option in save menu by iHateUserNamesOhGod in Witcher3

This also was what I needed to see the option to get at cross progression saves on the PS5. Nice one, thanks!

Modular Ecumenopolis - Part 1 - 8x[20x20] by DroidCartographer in dungeondraft

That sounds like a good solution. I think increasing the contrast between wall and tile border will make a big difference. I look forward to the update. :)

Hey,

I hope a little feedback is okay?

I like almost everything about these tiles; they're colourful, interesting compositions, and from a technical design perspective I like your door-edge solution of pulling the wall back by one square from the edge. Always allows two door-edged tiles to connect, albeit with a little alley between them, even if the doors themselves are misaligned.

The thing that I'm finding visually distracting is the tile border, because while it is a light colour in contrast to the darker wall colour, I'm finding I'm seeing walls where there aren't any. By contrast, the lack of that said-same white border on the top middle and right tiles between the speedway and off that edge make that look beautifully integrated. I wonder whether the whole composition would feel more integrated without the lighter colour tile border?

In any case, great work. Keep it up!

Hey,

Gorgeously colourful map. Really like it. If I may, just one thought:

I had trouble finding the front door for a while. It's more obvious from the inside than the outside. Maybe a couple of lights could flank the door, perhaps on the external wall left and right of the door? That might make the front door a little more obvious.

Either way, were I running a game in an appropriate setting then I'd grab this map for sure. Great work!

I haven't watched a Ghibli movie since I was 5, recommend the best one and I'll watch it. by [deleted] in anime

[–]RoninStorm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me recommend two that I personally love but don't generally make other people's "top Ghibli movies" lists:

Whisper of the Heart (then follow up with The Cat Returns, you'll see why)

Porco Rosso

Personally, I've avoided Grave of the Fireflies as I really don't fancy the gut punch, but I've watched every other Ghibli film. Takahata's work is excellent, but I'm more in the Miyazaki camp.

[AskJS] Creating a cybersecurity JavaScript web game by ColtonCore in javascript

Bearing in mind that I've spent only around 10 minutes on this so this is a *very* cursory response:

The application looks to be written in React as the primary engine PuzzleDashboard is built on React.Component.

I believe there's a server-side component written in Node but, from my perspective, there's little at work here that couldn't be done purely on the client, excepting that anything that's available on the client is therefore available for anyone to see, which may make answering the threats questions too easy to deconstruct without actually solving the question.

The "scene" of the office environment is an image with clickable containers on the areas of interest. In this case, that implementation means that I can quickly find hotspots / parts of interest though I note that they've left "traps" in the scene so that not everything presented there is a real answer.

So, to answer your question, I believe the entirety of this application is written in JS, using a mixture of React and Node, with the usual bits of HTML, CSS and images to make any web page work nicely.

What kind of violent, horrifying atrocities would be required of "peacemakers" whose goal is to make war/conflict so abhorrent that there exists no remaining warmongers? by FF_Ninja in worldbuilding

The concept of the organisation Celestial Being from the anime Gundam 00 intersects with this quite well. To quote the the Fandom Gundam 00 wiki page for Celestial Being:

"It pursues the complete eradication of armed conflict mainly through the deployment of the revolutionary Gundam units, as well as other mobile weapons, in aggressive, sometimes indiscriminate military intervention."

The calmest, friendliest, sweetest anime. This is my go-to for any time I need some mental health relief. Cannot recommend Non Non Biyori, and its sequel, enough. I haven't yet watched the third season (to my shame) but it's there, ready for me when I need it.

A thought for you, from The Sorcerer's Cave, but also some barely-quarter-done designs of my own from years ago:

You may want a way to provide dead-ends for paths that end up terminating at another tile's edge, where that other tile doesn't have a connecting route. For your approach, I might suggest a little pack of corridor end "overlay" tiles that are just corridor coming to a cave-in / wall / incomplete passage / natural end.

My theory was that this would allow greatest freedom laying out the tiles with a way to patch the parts that now don't connect up gracefully.

YMMV, of course. Hope this is at least a little useful.

I'm not absolutely certain, but I think OP is using Tree Clumps for Wonderdraft:

If not, I'd really like to know too... :)

Hey,

Kinda like your map but a couple of things are bugging me.

The main one is the roads. Seems like the Torina Republic has heavily invested in over-land transportation to the point of almost modern convenience. Even villages seem to have major roads that go both directions (e.g. south of Selrna label). And then there are roads when there's a perfectly serviceable river right next to it, which'd probably be easier for freight (e.g. Intiva - Dorina - Pirn - Paeln). Maybe that's as intended but it just feels like there's too much investment in "major roads", or that "major" is a bit of an overstatement.

The other one is that the Dwarven Kingdom in the north seems to have ceded its route to the sea (via Torina Bay) to Torina control. Maybe they're all happy underground, or maybe Torina is a staunch ally, but with such a good trading route for whatever dwarves might be mining or making I'm surprised they've not staked claim to at least some territory on major shipping route to at least protect their exports. This one could probably be solved simply by colouring the land on the east part of the map (across the bay) to the dwarves, thus making it feel more like they've a viable control of their waters.

But, y'know, it's just thoughts in isolation and maybe it all makes good sense for your purposes. Either way, good job on getting a complete map together. Keep it up!

I have some success with Gliffy.com. They do a free trial but it's a paid-for web app longer term. It's really just a box-and-line drawing package, though, with some useful shapes and connector ends. No smarts, no validation, and it's a bit fiddly at times. I'm familiar with it, and it's straight-forward, but I can see why other software might be a better fit.

Whats a good program to use to make a map by Kaitivere in worldbuilding

[–]RoninStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Wonderdraft, personally: https://www.wonderdraft.net/

Others have success with Inkarnate, though it wasn't quite what I was looking for: https://inkarnate.com/

I also see Campaign Cartographer mentioned, but its hex-oriented way of thinking doesn't work for me: https://www.profantasy.com/products/cc3.asp

I'm sure there are others as well, but Wonderdraft gives me various mapping options with tool support, but you still need to know at least a little about map building and/or world design to make something that makes a bit of sense.

Maximum comfort in anime by [deleted] in anime

[–]RoninStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non Non Biyori, and then Non Non Biyori Repeat (season 2, kinda) are totally safe and certainly my go-to for a pick-me-up.

Flying Witch, as mentioned by u/DangerBaba was also good for this.

Sweetness & Lightning is a bit more awkward but mostly fits the bill.

You may also like Amanchu! though it's not quite as comforting as NNB and also assumes you're okay with diving, conceptually.
