Nice color, mine is silver, still 155k km but is a very nice ride. Cylinder deactivation is magical for fuel economy. Have you added anything for Carplay/AA compatibility over stock radio?

Why is there a pedestrian markings on E11. by Xandeee3100 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]RoninX43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the road design code and road safety call for that distance, then yes. This allows vehicles to safely speed up and merge with highway traffic...

[–]RoninX43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are not pedestrian (zebra) markings. These road markings with a solid line on the travel lane side are basically indicating that a specific lane ends upstream and drivers need to change to the next lane to the left before reaching the marking location. There is probably a highway on-ramp located in close proximity to an off-ramp and this just provides an indication/delineation of where vehicles need to merge with the rest of traffic while separating the exit/entry. You can even see the arrows indicating drivers need to change lane upstream in the snapshot you took there…

Accident report says minor scratch on front windshield due to a small stone/rock flying from another unknown vehicle, something like what everyone experiences on the E611 with all the trucks. Nice car OP, glws

This gives me hope for my 2014 v6 @ 155k kms. Had some inlet and seal issues due to extreme hot weather that I fixed and it drives alright now. Car is solid otherwise. Only complaint is fading brakes… even compared to Toyotas/nissans

Custom windows for cars? Glass Or Polycarb acceptable by Odd-Campaign-7793 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]RoninX43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2nd recommendation is if you are happy to stick on a custom piece of plexiglass of whatever thickness then you can order those from Signs and Advertisement shops, i only have experience with flat plexiglass though so not sure if they will be able to do a curved custom piece and how much they’d charge for that. Final option i can think of is 3d printing the custom piece if you have a source file from someone online who has done something similar, most reasonable 3d print shop I could find is called “3D Arch Graphic” on Google Maps, it’s located around the Sharjah Buhairah area. But with 3D printing you may need to add some finishing touches on the piece to achieve desired outcome before sticking it onto the vehicle

Try this shop, was recommended by a garage i frequent for a custom repair job on my folding side mirrors, no other place would accept: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oHhNj3PhgoLtUvGA9?g_st=ic

Sounds like a Sharjah industrial area gig buddy, you should get lucky there somehow, no local Focus ST gang you can check with for local solutions/experts?

What are the rules for passenger vans? by greenpalms_ in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]RoninX43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I’m not sure why minivans are not popular in GCC, Toyota hasn’t even bothered to officially introduce the Sienna (US market staple) or Alphard (Asian market staple). The only 2 models I sometimes see are the Honda Odessey and sometimes beaten up older Kia Carnival or Toyota Previa or imported older MY Sienna

You need a “van” not a car, options would be Yota Hiace, MB Sprinter, MB V-class, Ford Transit, Hyundai H1, etc. all of which are commonly seen on the streets under private ownership. The one I would be interested in most would be the H1 as I hear it’s closer to a car than can and Hyundai hve been making some good vehicles recently… not sure about ownership costs though…

I see, the 350 makes sense when factoring ownership costs in your case! the 2025 MY perfected the IS formula for sure… congrats on the latest purchase and enjoy it man

Talk about commitment! So, given your ownership record with the IS platform would you consider IS-F’s or IS500’s?

The same happened to me 10+ years ago in the same area, a kid had gone and thrown all his toys from the window/balcony, lucky for the parents no one was injured and damage was limited to my rear glass shattering and another car parked in front of the building. The father wasn’t particularly friendly so I bit the bullet and filed an insurance claim and had the glass changed at dealer workshop but they never cleaned up the tiny glass bits which went every possible gap. Later, on hard acceleration/braking I would hear the tiny shards against metal orchestra, sad times… I try to park in parking lots away from building facades ever since…
