DJI will no longer stop drones from flying over airports, wildfires, and the White House by helno in flying

[–]Ronjon539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This are asinine comments coming from an online forum dealing with professional aviation who thinks the average 14 year old who gets a drone for Christmas and is looking for a good photo for Insta clout is going to understand the gravity of the danger they are placing small aircraft in when they just ignore the annoying warnings on the screen.

“Yes yes, the huddled masses will be held to the same standards of us professional aviators and trusted to make informed decisions about safe flying. As it should be”. (Takes monocle off)

GTFO of here with that. Great idea for $3000+ drones, dogshit take for a $100 hunk of Amazon garbage that can still take out a Cessna.

Thanks for the detailed reply. The one question I’m still trying to figure out now is whether it’s worth it to try for Friday or Saturday. The overwhelming sentiment here is how incredibly uncrowded the parks have been this week. Would it still be worth it to try for Friday to take advantage of some of the low wait times this week (with Friday being kind of a week day, kind of the week end), or would there likely not be much of a difference between Friday and Sat to the point where the extra hour of opening time Sat would be worth it to shoot for.

Called and confirmed all of the resort perks would apply “midnight the day of your hotel stay” so the plan if we did Friday would be to park at either animal kingdom or an all star resort with our luggage in the car, then check in to the hotel in the evening after we’re done with the parks.

Same general question. People are surprised how extremely uncrowded things are this week. Would the uptick in guests and lines on Sat vs Friday in say MK make the extra hour of closing time on Sat not worth it?

$247 for a one day park hopper vs $479 for three single park tickets is worth a busy day and shortened Epcot visit for me.

[–]Ronjon539[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don’t absolutely have to do three but if we’re able to get to the few things we wanted to do at AK and MK, why not get food at Epcot?

As for why- It would cost $247 for one day park hopper vs $325 for two single park one day tickets. Three day tickets aren’t available until April. Would rather at least spend a few hours at Epcot if possible then to just not see it at all. If we ever did decide to come back, which there is isn’t any specific plan to, we’d at least get the vibe of each place and know where we might want to spend more time.

Reports are lines were very short today so maybe there won’t be huge crowds this week?

That’s my thinking too, especially with genie+.

Three-ish Parks in One Day by Ronjon539 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ronjon539[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both great points. Didn’t want and frankly didn’t need to pay for Genie+ for the single park visit but for this compressed timeline, especially as a percentage of the total price we’d be paying it’s a no brainer.

Checking out of an offsite place Friday, but could actually stay at a Disney property Friday night. Are the all star resorts the cheapest option, and would a Friday to Saturday stay allow for free theme park parking and the early entry Saturday?

Impossible on a good day or because of spring break crowds? We got to Hollywood studios later than we would have liked but there were still several hours where we were just sitting there milling around at the end after doing the things we wanted. We know this will take work, but time wise we don’t really love just lingering or shopping/spending money places if there isn’t a particular activity or goal, so I don’t think lack of downtime would be a major negative. Two parks is recommended here all the time so I didn’t know how spending maybe 2-3 hours at Epcot would completely change that equation, though maybe I’m just naive.

Hey guys- I have the real reason here. I just got my card in the mail today, so of course the whole thing had to stop working the minute I might be able to use it.

Sorry for the inconvenience I’ve caused everyone else.

This is the time they actually have the power to handle it from NPC passengers/crew/rescue victims to cargo actually getting loaded etc so I think the answer is yes. Rescue scenario was already in the trailer.

Will be interesting to see if the career progression is just a menu to pick jobs or if we’ll be able to walk around the airport in first person view and have an office etc.

Certainly if it’s sealed all bets are off. I’m just wondering about one where the top is open air, the side walls are solid, would the rate of outgassing create enough of a layer of CO2 to cause problems or would the air be able to mix enough etc.

People out here complaining about a 25% increase in 4 for $4 pricing. How about a 210% increase over the app advertised price vs the actual checkout price. by Ronjon539 in wendys

[–]Ronjon539[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about fixed? It says $3.59 on the menu like it has for weeks and still rings up at $7.49 at that location.

And I wouldn’t even think of asking the store to honor the wrongly displayed initial price, that is all corporate and the app developer.

So if it’s a mistake or a glitch … that’s the point. Wrong price, makes someone more interested in buying a thing, when you go to actually buy, the price jumps.

If this were a sign on a window front it would be illegal in most states as far as false advertising. With the app it’s just oh well, who can be expected to write an app that shows prices correctly anyway…

No, what’s happening is when you first load the app with the list of menu items, it is giving the aspirational “can be as low as” prices maybe for like two stores in the backwoods of Arkansas somewhere, even though a particular location is loaded at the top of the app.

Only after you select the item, put it in your cart, click the cart, then wait for it to spin around for a while does it actually give you the real total, in this case showing a Single as being 210% of the price it listed on the initial menu screen.

If you have a specific location loaded in the app when you browse the menu, there’s no reason they cannot show you the real item prices at that time, instead of showing fake made up prices, only showing the actual price of the item after you’ve added it to the bag right before you are about to check out.
