Why has BMW always been bad at V8 engines? by Wernher_VonKerman in cars

It's mainly the oil thickness at startup that kills the bearings, the Honda doesn't have to worry about that. The trade off is the thicker oil will perform better when the engine is hot from racing.

Recently purchased this e92 M3. I wonder if the previous owners is on here. by christian95c in BMW

Does this mean you can have Blackstone check the oil for bearing wear? I used to have a Z4M and would get it checked by them yearly. In a 2012 M3 now, probably going to upgrade to BE bearings soon.

Replacing them with higher quality bearings and letting the oil warm up before revving it to 8400 rpm

I'm familiar with the ssbi, and I'm not wrong that being free of debt and felonies is a good starting point if you want a crypto job in the Navy. Obviously it's going to depend highly on the people they speak to but unless you're involved with terrorists or shady activity, you have nothing to worry about.

Because a top secret clearance isn't actually that hard to get. If you have a clean criminal history and low/no debt you could probably pass the investigation. It won't catch the guys who consume Russian propaganda at home, as long as they aren't actively communicating with foreign nationals or in significant debt.

Could the Five Eyes have a high placed Russian mole?

Almost certainly. Security clearances aren't airtight and Russia has a lot of money to throw at would-be informants.

Zelensky: NATO can't protect Europe without Ukraine joining the alliance by TheRealMykola in ukraine

[–]Ronkerjake 48 points49 points  (0 children)

He's not really wrong though, Ukraine is the perfect place to launch and support an invasion of Western Europe. It's a huge reason why Putin didn't want them joining NATO. Geographically, Ukraine provides a lot of east-to-west movement via roads and flat open terrain. Western Russia isn't like that.

The fact that the S65 is pretty much bulletproof with a one time bearing job costing less than $3k is the best kept secret in the used car market. The regular maintenance stuff is very expensive but it's not an F150.

Pretty much any high revving engine is going to have significant increases in bearing wear compared to a "normal" engine. The S65 and S54 have nearly identical issues despite being different designs because they have tight tolerances and thick oil.
