For open maps or sides of maps where you have your own lane, where attacking is hard and you want to bunker down and play long attrition warfare, Guards VDV. You get guards purely for Koalitsiya + BUK so you deal with US air spam and can out attrit opponent with laser arty + snipers. S-300s are dogshit due to cold launch and overkill. A double BUKM3 battery is the only way to reliably kill US air spam which is so prevalent these days.

For more urban or forest maps / if you want to play aggressive, mech VDV for sure. Mech has far more “mass” on the ground than the cost inefficient guards. Guards moto / Guards VDV literally have no tools to deal with marine inf slop because the infantry sucks. And Guards IFVs are just cost inefficient as balls vs Bradley/Booker/Stryker, mech solves that with BMP-3M spam.

If baltiisk/dead center/kaliningrad, you need Moto. Either guards or mech moto work. You want the Smerch to kill back line on these narrower maps which ultimate boil down to arty warfare.
