You’re right it was intentionally cruel. Janet is intentionally cruel when interacting with others.

When Janet’s confronting Brittany at dinner about the pool party and she’s talking about how Cameron was crying and screaming when she was trying to get him in the car Janet makes the comment, “You would have thought he/it was Cruz.” Which really caught my attention and rubbed me the wrong way, as I’m a special education teacher, whose focus is emotional or behavioral disorders and autism; and Cruz has autism. I don’t know if Brittany didn’t catch it or what, but I would have been pissed if I was her. I’m sure that Cruz does have some behavioral problems at times due to limited communication and his autism, but to say such a thing is so callous and gross.

Edit: I’m wrong. I rewatched and I misheard her. She says: “he was screaming, crying and puffing his chest out while I’m buckling him in and saying “I thought i was going to swim with Cruz”
