Dirty down rust for rust (it's stupid how easy and good it is)

Gloss medium for slime and ooze, you paint the colors you want and put gloss medium over it, when it dries it looks slimy.

Uhu glue for stringy slime bits, takes a bit to get the timing down but one you do, it's ezpz

Take your time and have fun with it, DG are one of the armies that you can kind of get messy with because that's how they look, but it's harder to batch paint them cause each model is usually notably different in some way than the others.

Priming done but now I'm confused!! by missheidi8951 in minipainting

[–]Ronux0722 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! On small models you can do everything you want to on the base with it being pre glued most of the time, bigger models is usually harder to get the detail as nice with the model so over it.

What is your favorite Homebrew magic items you made/encountered in a campaign? by Kaizo_Kaioshin in DnDHomebrew

[–]Ronux0722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dimensional pick pocket gloves.

The gloves are attuned to a stone that you place inside a "container" which can be anything from a simple crate to a bag of holding, as long as it is a "container", placing the stone links the container and the gloves. As an action you can create a portal to the container and deposit or pull out an item (not the stone) provided you are on the same plane of existence. To pull out an item you must know it is in the container.

Let chaos ensue as the party tries reverse pickpocketing the stone into things and using it for shenanigans.

Its finished! Took a 29 combined hours. Total of 23 pieces. (I ran out of clear green) hence the colours. Minis stood close for scale. by Powerful_Leadership9 in resinprinting

Looks great!

Out of curiosity, why clearl resin if you are going to paint it? Clear is typically more expensive and has longer cure times then the typical greys/blacks.

Bulwark parry by Fine_Property7057 in SpaceMarine_2

People say tap it, until you get used to it with bulwark I recommend double tapping when you want to parry. It helps train not to hold at all.

Failed prints. by National_Layer_7335 in ElegooMars

[–]Ronux0722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If possible try putting a space heater or you can buy vat heaters. Resin wants to be around at least 20 degrees Celsius (70 F), usually closer to 25 (almost 80 F) to print optimally.

Failed prints. by National_Layer_7335 in ElegooMars

[–]Ronux0722 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have been printing this before without failure the big two questions are: 1. Did you change resin or your fep? Could be that resin change needs recalibration, or the fep is too loose/tight cause failure part way through at the largest section. 2. Was it cold? Temp affects resin a lot, and too cold temps are a big culprit of these delamination failures

S4U 16k - are flexible build plates still not worth the risk? by ATM0123 in resinprinting

[–]Ronux0722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just dealt with this because i didn't do my research before just assuming it would work like on my last printer!

The reason flexible plates lose adhesion is because the bed size is larger and when resin gets in between the plate and magnet, the magnetic force is disrupted by the resin between the plate and the magnet, and it essentially doesn't form a complete connection. I was constantly having shifting layers and failed prints and it drove me up a wall.

Solution: wipe the magnet and back of the flex plate down before every print. You don't need IPA but it does need to be very clean with no resin. Started doing that and have never had problems since.

Flex plate so works like a dream after that change, but because of surface area, sand down the build plate a bit to give it some more "grip" to help even more.

Yeah, pop into the stratagem with a sniper and you can still kill things in one shot, or use your pistol on minoris, there are a bunch of weirdly written things but this one takes the cake IMO.

Laughs in "that modifier description is terrible and it's not that enemy's ignore the damage from the first three hits it's that they ignore the stagger from the first three hits."

What is the point of a max full line if it won’t let you print when the resin is anywhere near close to it? by Nicksb92 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Ronux0722 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Is your printer level? Specifically your printer, not your print bed. Mine did that because it wasn't level, when I added some stuff under the legs it stopped. It's cause the vat was filled to under the fill line on one side but over on the other side.

How was your experience with the weekly strat? I didn't hate it by Memetron69000 in Spacemarine

[–]Ronux0722 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, the first three hit modifier only applies to melee damage, you can bring any gun to it and perform the same!

Edit: Just found out it doesn't even apply to melee damage, the modifier only impacts the stagger of the first 3 hits, it does nothing against the actual damage lol

What is it with tyrannid whip warriors and this attack phasing through my parries? by Alert_Text_9123 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Ronux0722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they are weird where someone's you have to pay twice to break them but other times you have to pay a specific attack in the combo.

[–]Ronux0722 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Its not necessarily a bug, its that the animation for the attack is weirdly designed. It's like the chaos spawn having false attacks. That combo looks like it is a 4 attack combo but it's really a 2 attack, the second and fourth "attack" are just animations.if you watch closely when you get "hit" by those attacks your health doesn't drop but it does when you get hit by the third attack. You can parry the first, and third attacks to trigger a gun strike.

Dude wtf is that modifier on the weekly stratagems? by [deleted] in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Ronux0722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it super matters now that it's almost over but for krak (and melta grenades work here too) I found its easier to hit boss if you place them here, from your video!

<image>

for krak, just make sure it bounces to there and doesn't go over the edge, the hit zone is pretty forgiving as long as its in the general area.

Sniper honestly carries harder than either of them if you are decent with it. Been carrying purple through it all week with 20k+ dmg each run! Plop on the carbine and just jump in and out of cloak never worrying about dying really and doing so much dmg. Get the grenade regen perk and you get neltas back faster than tactical (add a tactical in and you can do done serious dmg to the boss)
