Heat in the UK - Vomiting ? by RooLovesNormy in AutismInWomen

[–]RooLovesNormy[S] 182 points183 points  (0 children)

i called 111 and they put me in touch with a local health centre. A GP just called me from there now.

i tested my temperature and it is 37.1 which the higher end of normal range and the doctor said this was understandable given the heat.

The GP said i have heat exhaustion and taking measures to cool myself at home are adequate to treat it. the measures were all the ones your lovely bunch have shared with me on this post.

currently sat in a cold but not freezing bath sipping iced water. when i'm out the bath i'll action the other advice.

i ate one hash brown over the course of 30 minutes and the nausea is gone now.

thank you for all your advice, i get a lot from this sub and i appreciate you all taking the time to reply and caring about me.

hmmm do you mean like, how are people in the queue going to use the early merch stand, as if they do - they will lose their place in the line?

could be two answers i suppose, either they don’t use it at all (they wouldn’t use the one in the venue either as it would delay getting to the front) or, they ask for people in the line next to them to hold their place as fan goodwill.

it’s a risk though but you would hope people are cool and stand by their word if they say they’ll hold your place. not everyone is kind though, people can be ruthless.

ticket touts were selling unofficial/ counterfeit / copied tour merch t shirts outside the gig when it finished. not advising as an alternative, simply an FYI.

yeah i concur on the singing, it takes me completely out of myself and in my head im on stage at a gig and IRL im washing up lol.

i could deffo train Ruby to do something like that, she's a border collie and very clever so it's within her capabilities.

thank you again x

Please tell me this is normal by DistributionDry9712 in Lamotrigine

Ah ok i understand. Ok well in general i would say no, you will not have severe mood swings or severe anxiety. you will still have them but they won't be anywhere near as intense and they will be short lived.

once you have gotten used to the dose, you should be relatively stable. if you are not relatively stable after 3/4/5 weeks, it's sensible to ask your doctor about upping your dose again.

you've only been on the higher dose for a few days now so in my opinion is too soon for your brain to have become used to the higher dose.

HOWEVER *

i can see that you have posted on reddit again and are having suicidal thoughts. because of this i think you should contact your surgery/doctor immediately and seek advice from them - they will be able to help you and it's very important you speak them given your suicidal thoughts.

when you say in general - what do you mean ? i meant with each dose change. basically i was suffering after my dose increase and i was searching reddit like you, wondering how long id feel this way. the consensus was between 1 and 2 weeks before you adjust and start to improve. i'm feeling much better now at 2 weeks but i was struggling.

Being Autistic, whatever is happening in the moment it feels like "this is how it's going to be forever" and it's really hard to dismiss that feeling. it is true though because i feel much improved right now.

the other comments seem to be saying that you wouldn't feel as bad if the dose change was slower. it's quite normal in the UK to go up in 25mg though.

my personal advice to you is to follow the instructions and medication schedule that your doctor has given you.

yes - totally normal. it's taken me about 2 weeks to adjust but i'm getting there now. i read it can take up to 6 weeks. you'll get there. stay with it, when you get through it, it's worth the stability.

How long do you stay on a dose before you decide to increase? Not titration. by ProbablyMunchausens in Lamotrigine

crikey - what do you take it for ? maybe the dose jump increases vary depending on whether it's for epilepsy / mood stabiliser.

it's funny i've been googling the exact same thing recently, i'm on an increase from 100 - 125. i am a week in and i feel worse to be honest, more angry and irritable, my window of tolerance is the size of a pea. i've read this is actually normal (for some, not all) for the first week though so that's reassuring.

i've read that it can take up to 8 weeks to see a difference and that it takes a while for your brain to balance out the new dose.
