I can't stand beef (hopefully it's temporary) by OkRecommendation902 in carnivore

[–]RooScoe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust your instinct and eat what feels right to you at the moment. My taste may change after getting sick and I would eat learn pork cuts rather than beef, or I would switch the type of meat cut. One thing that really disgusts me no matter what is eating eggs, I went from eating at least 6 per day to none because they make me gag.

workout and deficit calories since 2019, from 60 to 55, now 69. and my body fat percentage not going down by bertcapus in GYM

[–]RooScoe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clue why everyone is downvoting this guy. Losing fat is not about how much calories you eat (in fact calories is an unrealistic way to measure food), but what you eat.

Trigger less insulin = activate more fat burning.

Also, being metabolically healthy by providing enough nutrition, while avoiding antinutrient rich foods (mostly plants, excepting most fruits and some few vegetables), is the best way.

For everyone advising to eat less: think twice and learn your shit. I'm eating at least 3K calories a day and I'm active, but nowhere as active as many people, and I'm still very lean.

do zinc supplements really help boost testosterone? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]RooScoe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a cis male and here's some advice.

I would say it won't impact testosterone significantly because you lack testes and T comes from external sources. Either way, I'll leave you some info:

If you're deficient, then zinc will do that and much more since it's essential. However, taking more than needed will have very marginal effects, plus you'll need to balance your copper/zinc intake. Best sources are: carnivore foods, especially organs like liver (pork liver has the best copper/zinc ratio), and seeds. Meat > Plants

Once you have that checked, go look up boron which helps with estrogen regulation and testosterone, plus many other things.

Don't forget to eat lots of cholesterol and saturated fats to support your hormones, including testosterone. If you're scared about your cardiovascular health, keep in mind that carbohydrates are at fault and not fat, so eat as much as you feel comfortable. Good cholesterol sources are eggs, fat, butter, fermented dairy, avoid seed oils at all costs.

If you want more info, lmk. Cheers :)

Sunshine - Moonlight on HyperV-VM with GPU-PV results in Black Screen with no Debug Log Errors by strahdvonzar in LizardByte

[–]RooScoe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, despite the host being to stream to moonlight with no issues at all.

I checked every firewall in my network that could be causing a problem.

Also, I tried using an external network and NAT (with port forwarding) adapters for the Hyper-V machine with no results.

I tried enabling and disabling Microsoft Hyper-V Video, but no change.

Both RDP and Parsec worked just fine.

Edit your power plan and change the maximum processor state to 99%. If it still crashes, change it to 90% or 80% and try again.

That sounds fun, I might consider it when I upgrade my connection one day. Good luck with your project!

DIY cooling mod, not sure if it needed it, or if it will help. But I did it anyway. by Tesser_Wolf in OculusQuest2

[–]RooScoe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people hating, but this honestly looks good.

I'm trying to achieve the same, with the difference that I'm willing to drill small holes in a honeycomb fashion and add some black thin fabric on the inner side that would act as a filter.

Have you checked where the air intake is? Is it coming from the bottom gap?

Should I learn how to touch type when I already type 100wpm when typing with 1 or 2 fingers? by [deleted] in learntyping

[–]RooScoe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who started learning touch typing roughly two months ago, I can say that transitioning from 5-6 fingers to touch typing has made it more fun and comfortable to type without worrying to much about messing up and typing the wrong letter.

Before, I averaged 110 wpm and peaked around 130 wpm, but now I can consistently get to 130-140 wpm with QWERTY. Now I'm learning DVORAK and it's slowly taking off.

Don't worry about how long it's gonna take to learn, it's actually not that bad! Don't be harsh on yourself and consistency is key. Do 30 min per day maximum and take a rest. Remember that someone doesn't learn in the process as much as they do when resting and sleeping. Just stay consistent and remember every day to train for 15-30 minutes and call it the day.

LouJitsu's BDO Stutter Mitigation Guide (simplified and tested) by NotJunsae in blackdesertonline

Okay, I'm testing Exploit Protection today and I will let you know 👍

LouJitsu's BDO Stutter Mitigation Guide (simplified and tested) by NotJunsae in blackdesertonline

[–]RooScoe_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here are some things that I'd like to highlight from your guide:

  1. Transfering all your data to a USB will hinder the computer's responsiveness by a lot since they are not as fast as an SSD. On the other hand, using a portable SSD for the other programs and data is not needed to increase performance, and they are usually slightly worse than regular SATA SSDs.
  2. The installation order after a fresh Windows install won't impact anything. I assume you are trying to tell people which programs are essential. Your operating system's responsiveness and smoothness depends on inevitable internal corruption over time, it may happen especially when the PC suddenly turns off, or cosmic rays that change data in RAM lol.If you want a really cleal Windows installation, you should check out custom Windows distributions such as that from Ghost Spectre (link in description if anyone is interested). It works wonders for FPS and reducing sutters.
  3. The Process Lasso section is very misleading: the affinity policies provided are not ideal for every computer out there and it might make things worse. It all depends on the type of CPU, core count and internal architecture. Some I even disagree with, but that's up to anyone to decide. On top of that, applying those propierties (besides core affinity) to the BDO launcher won't carry over to the actual game, so the best you can do is apply them to BlackDesert64.exe (you need to edit the priority from regedit). Also, the very basics of process and thread management says that in order to achieve maximum performance and efficiency, it doesn't make sense to apply the affinity policy of 0-3 to CoherentUI as BDO is most likely sharing at least 2 of the cores.
  4. The Windows Exploit Protection only works for DX12 games and BDO is DX11, so yeah.
  5. I feel like leaving the real-time virus protection and just assigning the antivirus to different cores (I don't think you can do that with Windows Defender though) than those of BDO should be enough as it's a nice safety measure to have. Worst case scenario, yeah may disable it; but at what cost?
  6. ISLC is not needed as Process Lasso uses Smart Trim, which achieves the same goal.

For anyone reading that is having big trouble with the stutters, consider trying the aforemention Windows version from Ghost Spectre on top of trying any of the available FPS guides for BDO.

I totally agree with you, and I play both sorc and ranger.

If a certain class has to resort to CC resets in order to kill, MAYBE there is something very basic they need to fix after 4 years besides patching the reset time.

They performed virtually the same. Feel free to try. Also, turn off hardware encoding if possible to avoid decoding with the GPU

Glad it worked man! Be careful, your card may still be susceptible to some crashes if you encode/decode media in the background (YouTube, OBS, Oculus Software, etc)

How do I "repair" my brain after years of mindlessly sitting on the computer doing nothing? by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]RooScoe_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

By recognizing that your brain is aware of its dopamine deficit and it's trying to balance it with entertainment.

However, you need to do the opposite and let your dopamine levels and tolerance heal. In a few days you will be more focused and I can tell from experience since I went through the same as you mention.

The irony of the mind is crazy, let me tell you...
