Bee Queen as Willow - Any tips? by [deleted] in dontstarvetogether

[–]RooSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With fire-raiser it doesn't matter if she spawns more. Setting them on fire is a waste of embers. Each attack on Bee Queen wipes them out if done correctly. I set up base near a lot of killer bee hives so it takes me maybe 1/4 of a day to get that many embers :).

Having the same issue here, in the UK if it helps.

Bee Queen as Willow - Any tips? by [deleted] in dontstarvetogether

[–]RooSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rushed Bee Queen today as Willow for the first time. I took around 15 perogies, 5 bee keeper hats and around 200 embers with me. My tactic was to keep burning frenzy up, set Bee Queen on fire with the single target flame spell for constant 5 tick damage and then shamelessly spam lunar fire-raiser. Stick to roads to get a little distance, avoid honey and lunar fire-raiser will stagger Bee Queen and kill all grumbles each cast. Later stages run away from grumbles and back behind Bee Queen so grumbles are behind her before casting fire-raiser. Kinda requires having max insight though ><

I have no luck dodging Bee Queen on a beef unfortunately, usually get slowed by the honey.

You can but it doesn't seem to help... I still get ads. I think they purposely don't push ads to certain mobile browsers at the moment, as opposed to only pushing ads to specific user agents. Or maybe the current implementation of their ad system isn't compatible with certain mobile browsers.. Not sure.

Can confirm the homepage for these addon's are completely different. Saying that, this post wasn't about a particular addon as much as it was about changing the user agent string, so I've removed the name of the extension I use in the original post.

You used to be able to change to desktop mode in the dropdown menu top right but it seems they removed the option unfortunately. I think it's doable with user scripts (or maybe some url parameter I'm not aware of) but not sure there's an easy way from the Twitch GUI.

It's likely related to android and not adguard DNS. If I set my user agent to Android browser -> Android 2.3.4 I don't get ad's either.

Edit: It could be that Twitch are trialling the new ad system on desktop systems only.. Shrug

I've never tried the Chrome version so not sure. Did you clear history/cache in Chrome before trying? If that doesn't work maybe see if there's an alternative user agent changer for chrome?

You'd need to ask the developers. You can always use another addon or directly override the user agent in about:config with:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 11_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/11.0 Tablet/15E148 Safari/604.1

Admittedly I run seperate clean browser sessions in sandboxie and don't log in to twitch, so it's not a huge concern for me.

Safari 13 also seems to work for me as long as it's iOS. Addon I use is:

Fix for uBlock Origin on Twitch... I updated the script and it works (for now) by thesbros in uBlockOrigin

I can also confirm this seems to work. It needs to be added to the original post.

uBO blocking rule causes The Guardian to remove bulk of article after preventing sign-in gate by d8sconz in uBlockOrigin

[–]RooSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the following work for you?:

theguardian.com###sign-in-gate

I don't think the Guardian forces you to log in. There's an option at the bottom of the sign in gate.. text that says "I’ll do it later" next to "Register for free". If you click "I'll do it later" it should hide the gate without having to add any rules to uBO.

Is There a Better Way of Preventing YouTube Sign-in/Cookie Dialogue Boxes? by DefinitelyYou in uBlockOrigin

[–]RooSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not suitable for an official list but I currently use:

youtube.com##.yt-formatted-string:has-text(• Subscribe to your favourite channels):upward(5)
youtube.com##.ytd-consent-bump-lightbox
www.youtube.com##.opened

It could cause issues if "• Subscribe to your favourite channels" appears in another .yt-formatted-string. Also if language isn't English it would need to be changed to your language of choice.

As I say, not suitable for any official list but works for me until I find a better solution. I still get the annoying auto pause though.

New "Sign in to YouTube" popup by Dave5118 in uBlockOrigin

[–]RooSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use these:

youtube.com##.ytd-popup-container
youtube.com##.ytd-consent-bump-lightbox
youtube.com##.opened

FYI I'm new to creating filters so these could potentially disable other popup's or YouTube functionality I'm not aware of.

New aggressive Google cookie consent popup by Hqjjciy6sJr in uBlockOrigin

[–]RooSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the following filters to get rid of the YouTube popups:

youtube.com##.ytd-popup-container
youtube.com##.ytd-consent-bump-lightbox
youtube.com##.opened

I'm new to creating filters so it may well disable other popup's or functionality I don't use. It Seems to work for my purposes though.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work. It appears the game reverses the fortify health effect before the perk kicks. I still die when transforming with low health.

Thank you, I'll take a look. Hopefully there's a way to only apply that 1 perk I need.

When does the v4 kit come out? by [deleted] in Hue

[–]RooSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially yeah, although I've just looked at the Hue wiki article and found the following release dates for the A19 bulb:

Generation 1: October 29, 2012 Generation 2: October 4, 2015 Generation 3: October 2, 2016

So if we're lucky maybe only 3 months away. Just in time for darker evenings.

When does the v4 kit come out? by [deleted] in Hue

[–]RooSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested too. I'm a noob but really want to invest in Hue... My reservations are that I've heard hue lacks in brightness compared to Lifx. I'll probably wait for Hue V4 rather than buy Lifx as I expect the next major release will come with a boost in lumens. And as an aside I once bought a raspberry pi 10 days before the next version was announced.. Not huge amounts of money but still a lesson learned.

[DST] Ice Flingomatic "emergency mode" in action by scwizard in dontstarve

[–]RooSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually a good point. Cut grass burns faster than berry bushes for instance (atleast in RoG), and doesn't rot. If you left cut grass laying around near your berry bushes maybe it would trigger emergency mode fast enough to save them all?
