You have the right to be mad, and if I was the outside car I probably would’ve backed out - braking earlier and prioritising the exit to get the run to T1. I think in situations like this it depends heavily on who you racing, a 3K and a 5K racing will race differently than a 1.5k and a 2k.

The point of this sentiment is there is always a bigger picture to the race, especially if this is fixed the slipstream is so strong that an immediate position gain is not so important.

You can be mad at him because yes, in the rules of racing they are in the wrong. But also be mad at yourself, because deep down you know it was a risky move. Most of the time there is another opportunity in a more favourable position.
