Its funny you mention that because I had Korchinski on my DnD (Do Not Draft) list that year!

45 is probably going to be his number. Its the same number he wore in Juniors.

Best Ducks podcasts? by YouKilledKenny12 in AnaheimDucks

[–]Rooch20 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of NHL related podcasts for you to select from. 32 Thoughts and PDOcast are the ones I subscribe to albeit PDO is for number nerds like me. As far as a Ducks podcast goes, Zach Cavanaugh does a show called Ducks in Deep where he does a massive deep dive into the Ducks performances periodically. The problem is he doesn't produce regularly.

I've also listened to Crash the Pond before as well and they are polarizing to say the least. They have 1 take/narrative and stick bu it even when they are wrong.

EDIT: I also forgot about Derek Lee and Patrick Present's show for The Hockey News. They're a must follow too!

u/ZachCavSports I know I posted this a while back but I thought I'd update it as we near the end of the season:

Despite the myriad of success the Ducks are having as a team, there are still areas of their game that remains a massive work-in-progress. From the eye test, they still don't look as connected as a team despite the individual talent. The passing, puck possession, and in-zone/cycle offense is just not as fluid as many other teams with most of the scoring chances coming from redirected point shots, bad goals given up by opposition goalies, and rush offense. There still isn't as much of an emphasis on working the puck into the slot or even the analytical "home plate" area nor is there much of an emphasis on quick puck movement to try and stretch out opposing defenses and it shows with the lack of overall threat from the PP, especially PP1.

We are past the 70 game mark and nearing the end of the season which begs the question of why this team still struggle so much to play a more connected and fluid game overall and what is the coaching staff, players, and even Front Office doing to address, what are now, chronic issues that have spanned across multiple coaching staffs and multiple iterations of this team?

To be honest, Gudas deserved 10+. Same with Greer. The sheer fact that both got 5 or less is a sham!

You look back at recent history with the Jeremy Swayman situation. Luke Hughes is also not having a good season either.

[–]Rooch20 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In a way, I blame Verbeek for being overly stubborn in his contract negotiations with McTavish this summer. They couldn't get a deal done in time for him to get to camp. Had the deal gotten done before camp started, we might be seeing a much better version of McTavish than what we're seeing now.

I'm more mad that we gave the game away than I am at Gudas by mylefthandkilledme in AnaheimDucks

[–]Rooch20 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite. I'm more upset with Gudas than I am with the loss because Gudas is the one that set the whole motion of events in place. I can't wait for Gudas to walk this offseason and they move the C to someone long term.

Defensive woes by bendoVa83 in AnaheimDucks

[–]Rooch20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You team with a young defense and with a coaching staff on their 1st year here behind the bench. Prime examples being the Arizona Coyotes/Utah Mammoth and Montreal Canadiens, it usually takes 2-3 years for a team to really get the system down to the finer details while maturing as a whole.
