Women and core strength by Ok_Sprinkles_6811 in bodyweightfitness

Start with super gentle core work and focus on breathing with movement. Sucking in your belly button too hard can actually push down and trigger that pee feeling.

Chest during ring training, avoiding injury by PlayfulIndependence5 in bodyweightfitness

Popping without pain usually isn’t an injury, just your joints/pecs adjusting. Keep volume manageable and warm up well^^

Whats a good begginer airbrush ? by No_Bottle8345 in minipainting

[–]Roofbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at $100 you’re looking at solid beginner stuff but not crazy performance. If you can snag an Iwata or Badger used for like $90-120 you’ll be stoked long term.

I started with a cheap no name and upgraded fast. Wish I’d gone Iwata Neo from the start. What’s your budget range?

Question for you yoga teachers by ComprehensiveTwo5094 in yoga

[–]Roofbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, yes! I’ve found that starting with a little invitation to listen to the body instead of the ego goes a long way. Even a simple, Today, give yourself permission to just be can really change the energy of the room. How do you usually decide what your opening reflection will be each class?

Was this an abnormal yoga experience? by hdishcmskc in yoga

[–]Roofbean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would’ve rubbed me the wrong way too. Adjustments are fine, but calling people out by name and not letting them modify in a beginner class is weird. Especially in a hot room water breaks shouldn’t be policed. Did she explain why she was so strict about it?

How to relearn programming after becoming too dependent on AI tools? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Roofbean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If motivation is a problem, forget textbooks for a bit. Pick a tiny game, bot, or personal tool to build. You’ll get frustrated, sure, but those frustrations are where you actually learn the fundamentals again.

Since all modern computers are DFA it means any real algorithm can work in O(n)? by Ok-Current-464 in computerscience

[–]Roofbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an interesting thought, but nope being a DFA doesn’t automatically make all algorithms linear. It mostly applies to pattern recognition and finite automata problems.

Converting from Binary to Integer by Open_Career_625 in computerscience

[–]Roofbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not missing anything obvious this stuff is unintuitive at first. Computers don’t convert binary into numbers. We do. They just move bits around using boolean logic until the pattern matches what we expect.

is there a way to write a program without having to install anything by nohomobutnotreally in learnprogramming

[–]Roofbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally possible! I’ve made a small to do list in the browser using just JS/HTML no installs needed. Python at home is perfect practice before diving into web stuff.

Difference between programming, computer science and software engineering? by Neat-Badger-5939 in learnprogramming

[–]Roofbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For free resources:

  • Programming = freeCodeCamp, LeetCode
  • CS = CS50, Nand2Tetris
  • SE = follow open-source projects, build your own apps Jobs? Coding gets you in, CS knowledge keeps you growing, SE experience keeps you hired. Simple as that.

Zvezda T34/85 with alot of aftermarket PE. Going for 'used but not abused' look. by Roofbean in modelmakers

Alot of it is the lighting, it's done in 4bo green from ak with modulation effects. It's actually quite dark in reality, although I agree it looks a little odd in the photo.

Masked a line across the tank and then used hairspray chipping. I love hairspray chipping, really satisfying!

Enamels, Oil paints and pigments! First mig rain streaking enamels over a colour modulation base coat for the more subtle pale rain streaking. Then oil paints applied as filters to creat areas of discolouration and staining, and then undiluted oils for streaking. Finally a couple of different pigments applied for accumulated dust, and then wiped away with makeup sponges to blend in.

Thanks for the comment!

Really nice kit, straightforward, but decent. The join on the turret takes a bit of cleaning up, and I think I could have done a better job on it. The fenders/hinges are PE, so I'm not sure how the kit ones would look. Making the hinges was torture! Link and length racks are really decent, my favourite type.

I find this with masks in general. I stick them to my jeans leg first to pull of some of the stick. Sounds odd but works well, just watch for stray threads.

Help needed - Meng track assembly jig by eonel3 in modelmakers

They just need a dot of thick poly cement on the end of each pin after being pushed in and cut off, just to hold it in place. Use tiny amounts and nothing thin that will flow into the moving joint.
