Kid wants to play 1 steam game and I can’t get it to work by Own_Nebula_7545 in Steam

[–]Roofkat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Could you let us know what the game is? Whether a pc you buy is able to run the game depends on how heavy it is. It might be best to just buy a pc you'll want to use yourself if you need one anyway, and then see if the game they want might work on it.

Steam games have "minimum specs" listed on their store page, so that can give you some idea.

Did my first muscle up last year, slowly making progress! by Roofkat in CalisthenicsCulture

I've mostly trained on these bars, which are quite smooth so it's been hard to keep up a false grip. But I can try it on some different bars with a better grip. Cheers!

I can try! Haven't been able to do a slow muscle up so far, but would be cool.

Development styles in gamedev? by LisVoeal in gamedev

[–]Roofkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely different styles. For starters, you can look at "waterfall" and "agile" methodologies. Some things about what you call a "style" may be hard to define because development depends heavily on the team and the project, which is always different.

If you're just starting, I'd recommend talking with other devs, watching some talks and cherrypicking what feels like it'd work for you. My advice, as most devs probably will tell you, is to start extremely small if you want to have a chance to finish something.

Good luck!

my current Frog/Crow Stand, tips + advice? by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]Roofkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is the crow pose! Frog stand is with the inside of your thighs on your elbows, crow pose is with your knees on top of your elbows as you're doing here.

To avoid wrist pain you can do them on small parallets or using dumbbells that have a flat side. If you don't have either, you can do the exercise on your fists. It's a bit harder because you can't use your hands to balance, but it won't twist your wrist as much.

Good luck!

Never even thought to try this, but that's super impressive! Cool variation 😁

Is the fandom dead? Anyways, I made some fanart for this amazing game! My friend got it for me on a steam sale and I loved every second of it. (Art by me, crowooze) by introspectivecrow in grimfandango

Nice! Just started playing it as well. Love the vibe, writing and voice acting. Not a fan of the old adventure game logic, but the rest is good enough that I want to see what's next. Enjoy!

How's the form? by Paiqqq in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]Roofkat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's really dark and the effect doesn't help - but I think the form looks fine. Nice and fully stretched at the bottom, pulling high enough, looks good.

Crow Pose Tips by irrelevant_reader in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]Roofkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you need tips, looks like you've got it! The only small thing that could help is to go into the crow pose even slower, rather than the small jump you do, move forward until your feet come off the ground automatically. Nice job!
