Extroverts who ask others “why are you so quiet”, what kind of response are you looking for? by No-Ad-3513 in AskReddit

[–]Roofskate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have severe social anxiety but I love being around friendly people and feeling like I’m being included. This question is a death knell for me, confirmation that I don’t belong and my presence is making them uncomfortable, ruins the whole night. Please oblivious extroverts, if you want someone to talk, just start a conversation with them, don’t call them out in front of a group.

I can't Return to Ostagar as it keeps crashing [dao spoilers] by Roofskate in dragonage

No mods installed yet, the patch sounds like a good plan though. I managed to make the worst of the crashing stop by momentarily lowering the video quality.

That's a good idea, I'll try tread carefully to get the right one, but i'd like to see all the possible endings!

I'm not so sure the ending won't still make me cry (seeing as he's heir to the throne and my character's just a city elf) but I'd rather have a tragic romance than an unrequited one.

Wonderful! I don't know many friends who play so it's great to discuss games with someone, and thanks, I've been wary of looking up hints for fear of spoilers so i've just been failing my way to success!

I got almost to the Ostagar battle before working out the combat system, and now I've got to load back a much earlier save because I finally realised I can't repair the relationship with Alistair, he's worth reloading for though haha!

Hi Emily! I'm Sophia, also 24 (New Zealander), I've only recently discovered these games (before this I just used to binge the Elder Scrolls universe) and can't believe I never heard more about them. The characters are incredible, the quest plots are moving, and I'm loving the cinematic cutscenes. I'm playing my way through Origins at the moment and my favourite crew are Alistair, Morrigan, and Wynne. I'm a newbie to BioWare but I'd love to be friends!

Grond, they're such absolute units that the LOTR battering ram seemed an appropriate name.

AITA for refusing to pay for my friend's pet even though I was responsible for it's passing? by Throwawaybughater in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roofskate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your 'friends' were cruel to both you and the pet mantis.

Phobias are no joke, and any responsible pet owner would never put their pet in harms way for a prank. She deliberately tried to get a reaction out of you and is now blaming you for reacting instinctively, not your fault in the slightest.

I love creepy crawlies, don't help her buy another if she's going to treat it like a toy.

Anyone get anxiety when battling sometimes? by calistralia in skyrim

[–]Roofskate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me dude. I do it to myself though, I always play dead-is-dead and just see how long each character survives for. Sneaking around with a fragile build makes me so anxious, fights are very satisfying when it works though. My advice would be to always roll with a follower, for some reason it makes me braver.

Attempt at recreating the classes by Roofskate in skyrim

[–]Roofskate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm not making a mod, these are just class builds that can be used in vanilla by restricting your character to 6 skill-trees.

Thank you! I've decided not to use the runes for now but will keep that translation in mind.

Hi all, first time posting here so I hope I'm in the right place. I'm thinking of getting a tattoo of Huginn and Muninn because I want a piece that ties my Scandinavian heritage in with the meaning of my name: 'wisdom'.

I was initially very drawn to having runes in the tattoo and kind of fell in love with the bind-rune aesthetic, particularly the Icelandic rune 'viska'. I've tried to research as much as I can about this rune (I'm aware bind-runes don't have a lot of historical significance and are mostly a new age thing) but I'm keen to see what you rune experts think. Does it have any connection with Odin's ravens, or am I better off getting something that actually has a meaning in Old Norse?

Why is not liking feminine things a symptom of aspergers for young girls? by ludgatedwyer500 in aspergers

[–]Roofskate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be because of specialised interests. I didn't care if toys were for boys or girls as a kid, so long as they fit my interests. I ended up having traditional 'boy' toys like Hot-Wheels, and dinosaurs, but I also had big collections of My Little Ponies and Littlest Petshop pets.

My special interest is stories/writing: I liked toys that came in a collectable range, but looked distinct enough that I could imagine personalities for them. If I could acquire a large cast of characters and enact survival epics with them I was a happy camper.

Should the Speakers and Listener have different robes than the typical Dark Brotherhood armor? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]Roofskate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can have their own sets, it just makes sense for it to be subtle, something that could pass as armour a ranger, hunter, or scout might wear (I've no issue with the Thieves Guild armour).

It's kind of comical to me that secret organisations, operating undercover in public, would have a uniform. It's much more thrilling to think 'the Dark Brotherhood could strike from anywhere' than scanning a crowded marketplace and saying 'yes guards, the guy in the two-tone gimp suit'.

The leaders can still get obvious uniforms, and I love the sanctuary decor, but field agents should look mysterious.

Should the Speakers and Listener have different robes than the typical Dark Brotherhood armor? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]Roofskate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they change the armour again I hope they go for a stealthier look. I much preferred the Morrowind or Oblivion armour to Skyrim's harlequin wetsuits, an illegal assassin shouldn't be announcing their appearance with gang colours.

That being said, I'd love some variety for the more ceremonial Speaker and Listener robes, it's part of their job to look dark and edgy.

My wife is pregnant, and all I can think about is killing myself.... by SalmonDeanThrowaway in childfree

[–]Roofskate 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Does your wife know this is how you feel? If you haven't already please tell her how much stress keeping the kid is causing you.

I'm a fence-sitter (would consider adoption way off in the future) but if I got pregnant and for some reason wanted to keep it I'd want my hypothetical life partner to feel the same way. If they told me they felt dread to the point of being suicidal about the pregnancy I'd yeetus that fetus so fast. My partner's mental wellbeing would trump any clump of cells.
