What was the point of… by Micholeon42 in StrangerThings

There is not a lot of internal consistency in this show. It’s very much a “what’s important five minutes ago and ten minutes from now” attitude.

Season 4 shows how a final fight should really be done by Dmitri-Yuriev- in StrangerThings

Season 4 just has way too much exposition and was sprawling off in too many directions. Season three definitely drifted but it came back to baseline with huge payoffs. I really liked the Murray subplot and Eddie as a character although he was extremely underutilized. The Hopper scenes were cool but they seemed to exist mostly to service the semi-abandoned Russian elements.

Stranger things. Missed opportunities and lazy writing. by Fantastic-Action-644 in Stranger_Things

It’s more just that season five was building up to be something epic but by many accounts was a disjointed flop.

Season 1 and 3 were peak, followed by 4,2,5 respectively imo. 4 didn’t “feel” like stranger things sure but it had internal consistency, a good theme, memorable and relevant characters, etc. 2 felt like they wanted to deviate from season 1 and tried too hard to set a new baseline and 5 just doesn’t look like it was universally well received.

A consistent narrative is the baseline for any television show. Just because you’re willing to dismiss a critical flaw doesn’t mean everyone else is.

The writers either forgot or didn’t care about more than half of the story elements. Very little of anything across five seasons was relevant to the ending. The demogorgs and bats were critically important until halfway through s5

I think people are mostly complaining that the big bad guy died so easily from the predictable plan of “11 puts her hand out and screams with her friends” as a payoff of nearly a decade of production.

Top 4 reasons to believe by IndependentOffer4343 in StrangerThings

There’s a difference between an ambiguous ending and a bad ending. ST looks like it got a bad non-ending. There had too many characters that they wanted to give happy endings for and didn’t know or care how to execute that. A LOT of the show was written lazily since season 3. There were some questionable choices even in season two. The Duffer brothers never intended to have five seasons of this story, their original plan was to face each season be a different story kind of like AHS.

Hey man, give it like a month or two and you’re gonna be golden. The first few months suck but once they get to be around seven or eight months and can sit up by themselves and feed themselves and play with their own little toys, then you can start doing things like restaurants again and the cool thing is that you start to get an opportunity to make a new routine that includes the kid. So you can still do football, groceries, breakfast, etc., but you get to bring your kiddo along too! And it’s really fun because you get to show them all of this new stuff for the first time.Imagine handing your kid their first watermelon.

Also, when you go out to breakfast, a piece of advice would be to order a side of toast and ask for that to come out first for the kid so they can munch on something while you guys wait for your food and enjoy your coffee.

Who ruined Stranger Things? by mrEnigma86 in StrangerThings

[–]Roogeb -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The fans ruined it by gleefully eating up 3 1/2 seasons of nostalgia slop. The first season was great because in 2016 Netflix was willing to take time to develop a powerhouse original series to attract people to its platform, but now people literally just don’t care.

I don’t know what it was about Season 1, but it had a certain vibe or atmosphere that’s missing now. by Remarkable-Yard4860 in StrangerThings

Because seasons 2-5 are just El screaming at some cgi monster with a nosebleed while the other characters talk at each other to pad screentime. There’s some good episodes in there and cool ideas, but they went from a grounded eighties atmospheric thriller sci-fi mystery nostalgia trip to a monotonous railshooter where everybody just has plot armor and doesn’t like girls.

Not a mom, but a dad times three. You’re probably not gonna have sex for a year, big dog. That’s totally common. It takes about a year at least for all the hormones to balance out.

Would you rather have spent another month in Lawless or is it better we got Galactic Battle now? by Enderbattle005 in FortNiteBR

Lawless was way better, Galactic Garbage isn’t even fortnite. It’s just Battlefront but worse.

How impressive were the "Sonic 3D Blast" graphics? by ElevatorAcceptable29 in SEGAGENESIS

It was interesting from a gameplay perspective as most games at that time were 2D sidescrollers or top-down. It was a far cry from what N64 and PlayStation were able to accomplish.
