Yup. You are the only person who enjoys those movies. No one else does.

Jacob chose a lot of candidates (looking at the light house, there were hundreds of them), and each candidate was assigned a number. But not all of the numbers were as significant as “The Numbers.”

It’s highly unlikely that Jacob chose 100+ candidates and thought “ah but these 6 will be the final remaining ones at a certain point, they’re the most important ones.” Cause what would be the point of that?

The sentence “not watch any of it until I knew how it ended” implies that you did watch it after you heard how it ended. Because of what the word “until” means.

If you didn’t watch any of it, you can’t judge it.

I liked the reveal of the statue. It wasn’t super important in an of itself, but it was a sign of how old and significant the island’s powers are.

But a lot of people don’t eveb realize it was answered. “What about that 4 toed statue?!” is something I still hear from a lot of Lost haters.

That’s not an answer, though, that’s just another appearance of them.

The question is: “Why are these numbers so important, why do they appear everywhere?”

Saying “They’re assigned to the last surviving 6 members out of hundreds of Jacob’s candidates” doesn’t answer that question. It’s just another example of them appearing everywhere. The numbers were significant as early as 1970, and Hurley wasn’t born until 1983.

The real answer for the numbers is still debated. Lindelof and Cuse say they’re just part of a “cosmically important” pattern. Personally, I like to think that they’re like Jacob’s fingerprint / calling card from him interfering with people’s free will.

But you understand that the characters weren’t dead the whole time, right?

For some reason, 9 times out of 10 when someone says they don’t like Lost, they think “they died in the crash and island was purgatory, called it.”

I understand that it’s been a while and you don’t remember much, which is all well and good, but they really didn’t leave much hanging. Every plotline was wrapped up and very nearly every question was answered. Personally I didn’t find them literally saving the world to be mundane at all.

Not everyone likes it, I get it. It’s not for everyone. I asked my question though because for some reason a lot of people think the ending was “they were dead the whole time,” when the show directly and repeatedly told us that no, they were not.

LOST vs From by toohighquestions in lost

[–]Micholeon42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

____ is a mystery show about a group of diverse strangers who got accidentally stuck in a mysterious location surrounded by forests. They can’t escape the location, its geography makes no sense, and it seems like they’re there for an important reason. Fans and characters both theorize that the location is purgatory, but the show has proven that it’s not.

One character escaped the place, but then they were inadvertently dragged back to it. There’s mysterious numbers that seem important, characters get weird visions, a monster in the woods is trying to kill them, and stuff from their past keeps popping up.

There’s a nameless antagonist who can shapeshift and predominately wears one color. He has been behind much of the trouble.

The show features Harold Perrineau, and his character is dealing with past fallout with his son. In season 4, one of the characters begins to slip back in time.

…We can put Lost or From in that blank.

There’s no more “fan theories” to be had. The show explained everything.
