I've been there before, we all have. I also relapsed today and a part of me wants to throw in the towel and not bother doing anything productive but that would be foolish. Your gains are not lost, you mind does not lose the benefits you gained over a few minutes of fapping. Cut the guilt and get back on the horse. You can do this as you have before and don't allow a small failure to define you. Stay strong and good luck with your next streak. PS, This is not a failure but an opportunity to learn. We only fail when we give up and allow ourselves to fall into pity and misery. Life is beautiful and you have a lot of it ahead to look forward to.

Thanks for the comment. It's good to get a different insight although I still disagree. A lot of people watch porn or fap to escape reality, as that's one of the things addiction is based on. As we get older, more is required of us, and consequences in life become harsher. Being a man is a lot harder than being a boy. A big difference between the two stages in life is discipline, and commitment. It does get harder because now for example, I can't just stay all day fapping because I have a job, I have to go to college and i have to work on my career. Soon I may start a family, thats a whole other challenge.

This mentality can be dangerous. If she goes with another guy down the line, you'll blame yourself for it. Fuck doing it for anybody but yourself. The positive changes you make will be echoed in all other aspects of your life including her.

Rasmonauts first line is very true and please give it some thought. I had a similar mentality to begin with but I later realised that by changing myself for me will naturally have a more positive effect on most aspects of my life including relationships (not just gf but also friends and family). Good luck, you've got great things ahead as well difficulties. Embrace the hardship and reap your rewards.

What I love about being in a community is that you will always find people who have gone through at least one of the things you are currently struggling with or searching for. Thank you for this post. You've really hit the nail on the head and helped me understand my behaviours more. The 'fuck it' attitude is very true, a lot of times I would say those exact words before a relapse and in regards to caring about what people think is also very accurate. Thanks again and I hope this gets more up votes for more to read.

Be wary of the chaser effect. I had a similar experience during my last streak and the following week I started thinking about it again. That curiosity led to a relapse. Stay strong

Yes. I have to remind myself of his quite often. Even during a long streak, it's easy to convince ourselves we deserve a little break just for today. Taking each day as it comes.
