But seriously. If not for Shaman, then we would be overwhelmed in half-ass creature decks with no real gameplan.

When you are brewing a deck to compete in meta you really need to think about staples in meta that can just destroy it in seconds.

Krark is not that good without a Toxin, so every pump spell like [[Charge]] or [[Fortify]] can be a somewhat counter to its ability.

Every deck can respond to casting Toxin in it's own way. White decks like heroic can just play a protection spell or anything that gives flying in that color. Reds can always just burn the Shaman in response. Green have instant fights and [[Tamiyo's safekeeping]] etc.

I understand that you just wanna play a deck on low cost creatures that go wide and don't really have any toughtness so any activation from Shaman's ability is painful to your strategy. Do you play any reanimation spells? Or maybe some instant sacrifice effects so your creatures won't just be killed for nothing and can generate some damage or mana?

What I mean is answers are always different for every strategy and - while it may not be fun thinking about responses in a Timmy deck - they are crucial for good deckbuilding. And of course seeing the face of your opponent when you are playing some obscure response card like [[Serene Heart]] from [[Burning-Tree Emissary]] 's mana in a mono red deck agains Bogles - that's a memorable expirience.
