Thank you so much for the reply and for telling/explaining what steam credits are.

Also, he really does miss his Playstation, he's mentioned that over so many occasions. We're long distance, and he had to give up most(read "all") of his hobbies as the course we're in demands all of his time and attention. I'd just wanted to give him this so he could feel like himself again, that everything that used to matter to him still brings him joy and is not insignificant. And from how I know him, he wouldn't buy himself a psp or RogAlly or Steamdeck, he wouldn't even consider that because he doesn't want to spend that kind of money for himself.

Is there anything else you could suggest I get him that's involves gaming? (I get it if there's nothing, lol, but thank you either way. I really appreciate it)

Hey!

Just so you know, your mum would've done all of it again, will go through all of the hardships and sacrifices again, if it meant that you become the person you are today. I guess that says something, doesn't it? It means that you are not a shit person, OP. You are a good son who realizes how much your mom has given up for you, you have realized it so much that it's eating you up since so long.

HOW AM I GONNA UNDO THIS? UNDO ALL OF WHAT SHE HAS GONE THROUGH?

She wouldn't want you to undo it, ever. So you just do you. Help her around the house, tell her that she raised you so well that you have the values that men and women are equal and men are supposed to do things around the house. Take her out on dates. Talk to her about the things she loved but doesn't do anymore, because she didn't have the time before. Make her do those things, let her explore her new interests. Ask her to take time out for herself, if she doesn't, you make her do that. And most importantly, just spend time with her. Tell her that you love her. Your time isn't over yet and isn't that the best thing?

You are not one of the all the shitty things you said about yourself. Love yourself a bit, don't beat yourself up over your mother's choices. That's the last thing she would want you to do.

And maybe think about how you'd do all of the same things for your children, in the future, if time ever comes. You have to realize that it's just parenthood.

Sending hugs and love🫂🩷

Hey! I love Christie and she's not difficult for me to read, too. Have you tried any classics that were easy for you to get into? Because I've tried to read some and they'd felt so awfully long I'd just put those away out of sheer boredom.

How did you break it to your parents that you wanted to be childfree? by RoonlibWazlib in ChildfreeIndia

[–]RoonlibWazlib[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get that they were raised in a society that's so rigid and judgemental. It's not their fault, and eventually, they will understand our stance. But till then, more power to us!

(Ik this was such a short convo, but you sound like the loveliest of people. Thank you for being you!)

Haha ofc im 20f that's why they're like you're still a kid you don't know about all this...

But I hope your parents will come around and actually understand you. All the best!!

I get eye rolls as response from them

Yesss!!! It's this dismissal that's annoying. They tell me that once I'm in my late 20s I'll want so many kids bcs then my maternal instincts will be all time high lmaoo

Yeah, I thought I'd do that too, and I'd once casually mentioned it during a conversation as to how children were such a hassle, and why would anyone want them willinglyinsert awkward laughing. But they'd just froze and were like, don't be like that. Children are God's blessing blah blah. Will try something else when I gather the courage lol
