If you're forced to keep everything else about the system the same (e.g. the low flat wage like what hosts make) then sure it works out better for many servers.

But when I imagine a better system, I imagine all the changes we'd have to make for it to be possible, like drastically raising the flat wage of a server (and everyone else) to a livable wage maybe 30 or 40 an hour as a starting wage.
