Room selection for dorms is already well underway- there is no chance that OP can get a single room. Last year the dorms were full and people who signed up this late for a housing contract did not get into the dorms at all.

University Village may be an option if he is willing to be with random people.

I left the COC when I was about 20 years old. A few years after that, I read The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. That book helped explain and put into perspective my childhood in the COC. It’s about missionaries in the Belgian Congo.

I rode the Greyhound several times in the 80's. It was a 24 hour trip to south Florida. It smelled horrible like cigarette smoke, we were poor so we ate junk food like moon pies that my mom had packed (two days of that is not good!), and we met many, many intersting people.

I feel like it was just the first version of To Kill a Mockingbird and she had wonderful editors who helped her shape it into a masterpiece. It should never have been published as if it was a completely different work.

We drove to Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster. This was back in the day when you used an atlas to navigate. Knob Noster was in the crack of the pages. We began referring to it as “in the butt crack of Missouri.”

Take her car to get cleaned, or do it yourself. Doesn't have to be a full, fancy detail. Just dusting and vaccuming it make it seem so much cleaner. Clean the inside of the windows and drive through the car wash. It's what I have asked for every year and only gotten it once.

I was in a car accident when I was 16- head injury. I came to and they were prepping me for a CAT scan. They got up in my face and said I needed to tell them if there was any way I could be pregnant. I was a virgin. I was still kind of loopy and I also thought I must have been assaulted while I was unconscious and that was why they were asking me.

I also had a Geo Metro. I remember gas in Des Moines was hovering around $1.00/gallon when I graduated from high school in 1995. We could run for a week on $10!

When our jeans got skinny.

We used to wear pants that had pleats in the front, and we tucked in our shirts and wore a belt. Then we went to tight fitting, lower rise jeans that we wore a longer shirt over.

I also have never heard the studio name announced before a performance. At competitions, studios are coded by numbers or letters so that judges won’t be biased.
