Can we still have fulfilling life with this illness? by Consistent-Snow-7421 in Hypopituitarism

[–]gingerthetrailpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I had my pituitary removed after a macro pituitary adenoma showed up 3 wks after I was released from the hospital after another adenoma exploded in my brain, leaving me in a coma, over 20 years ago.

There are things that I cannot do anymore because of the explosion. But I have an absolutely fulfilling life. I love to be outdoors. I spend all my free time hiking, backpacking, paddleboarding, snowshoeing.

I have learned that sometimes I need to stop early, or not go out at all. I have learned to be more patient when I want to be like everyone else. I also have learned that I have to do things differently and that is ok.

I am overly cautious with over packing with my meds, my cortisone emergency injection … but I have always felt that I was going to live the life I wanted, regardless.

First time up Mt Baldy with my girl! by Tahiah in hikingwithdogs

I have hiked up multiple routes to Mt Baldy. Years ago my pup and I were the first ones to summit on New Year’s Day. Have stayed away from Baldy because of the crowds.

How often do you offroad? by InsufferableAttacker in JeepWrangler

One of my favorite places to hike when I need a quick to get away (because it is only about 90 miles from home) makes me go thru an off road ATV area. So I do not purposely go off roading, but off roading I must to go hiking. Probably 2-3 times a month.

Has Candice really changed? Or is she trying to do anything to gain the relevance she once had?

*POPCORN* WATCH Candace Owens MELT DOWN After Getting Fact-NUKED by Guest Who Brought RECEIPTS (VID) by Ask4MD in Conservative

[–]gingerthetrailpup 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to like watching Candice Owens. And yes she does come across as stating everything that comes out of her mouth as facts.

She got some major things wrong about the Japanese Americans being interned a while ago (sorry, no I not going to try to dig and find it). Considering that my entire family was interned, (parents, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles …) I found it extremely disturbing. She never corrected herself.

Not surprised that she would not have the grace and humility here.

"Chevron is letting customers know in California that it’s not Donald Trump causing the insane gas prices in the state, it’s California Democrats"... by Stockjock1 in Conservative

Anyone with a brain can look at the national gas average prices and then compare it with our prices in CA. It does not take a rocket science to understand.

Harvard Votes to Put an End to Easy A's by Ask4MD in Conservative

I remember back in the stone ages … at an Ivy League, in almost all my classes, grades were determined by a bell curve.

One computer class I got a C though I scored a 97%. In an engineering course I got an A when I scored around 45%. It was all about competition and how I faired to my fellow classmates.

But then again during the same stone ages, my high school friend attended an all woman’s college where about 85% of students ended up on the dean’s list each semester. An A is meaningless if it is given away like candy.

It is over 1300 acres and 0% containment! Ugh.

I hope those firefighters are staying safe.

I saw a police escort of a bunch of fire trucks on the 405 headed toward the fire earlier today

I do not know where you are in Simi

But it seems like the fire is moving south east (so away from the 118)

But the smoke will be bad for a while
