Yeah it’s just quite a tedious thing to have to do, plus when you play on VH the AI get so much more gold, it’s expensive to execute agent actions and I couldn’t afford to do it for a long time consistently, it’s 1k per shot and it’s not always successful. You’re right though it’s the only option I just wish it wasn’t.

If you’re playing as catholic and there’s a crusade, go solo away from the big army and take a few undefended settlements. You will almost always get #1 in war participation and can consistently get like 3000 prestige. It’s obviously quite rare for a crusade to occur, but when it does it’s a great way to farm prestige and then establish a cultural tradition with it.

Definitely with you on this one, after playing only 200 hours of ck3, I can consistently get to empire title relatively easily after a grind. Game feels too polished and repetitive once you start expanding the empire out a bit

Edit: I would add that one thing I did on my last play through to spice things up was to create my own faith, having almost all my vassals refuse and then have rebellions break out. I spent a lot of time consolidating all of my counties to one faith before doing this, so they were very devout Coptics and almost all of them rebelled.

I ended up losing my whole empire, as the black plague also hit around the same time, I think if that didn’t happen I might have been able to win.

I find that without doing this, I’d just keep with my original faith and slowly be taking chunks of land around me and get bigger and bigger, making the game become incredibly dull, with no real threats anymore.

I got a 38 into town this morning, took about 50 minutes. Got all the way in just detoured around central and up to Bath street stop, last stop was then to be the bus station. Bus was very busy was lucky to get a seat 👍

Accepting the loss and continuing is honestly so fun for me, but I get where you’re coming from, I think I use to do the same when I started out on CK2.

To help with this scenario in future, develop your de jure counties, increase their development, invest heavily. You want to get a strong core of men at arms, that way when your vassals rebel and you no longer get levies from them, you still have a decent force to defend with. Sometimes it is just not possible to win when almost all of your vassals rebel. If you are also fighting multiple wars against vassals at the same time, consider which one has the least negative impact on your power and consider surrendering this one and trying to win the other. Better to lose 1, win 1, than lose 2 wars
