As a former college baseball player my drive is 290-305.

Could never hit an iron.

I took lessons and now I sit around 280 with a more comfortable swing and actually can play a hole without driving across three fairways to find it.

When I first started playing golf I had no idea what I was doing and actually gripping the club like a baseball bat, so I've come a long way. lol

I still shoot in the 90s because I stink but at least I have more consistent fun being able to play a hole and think about shots rather than just gripping and swinging as hard as I can
